O.K. all you expert's.I've ridden the mean streak at cedar point and probably would never ride it again.I'm looking for a comparison of Mean Streak to Kennywood's steel phantom.I will probably let your input decide wether or not I'll ride the steel phantom on my trip there in july. I've heard some real horror stories and not to many good ones!! I have ridden all the coasters in I.O.A.,Cedar Point,six flags New England and the new boulder dash at Lake Compounce in Bristol Ct.(7 times,great ride!!)Any comparison of steel phantom to any of these coasters? nooner57

You cant really compare SP with most coasters. Its kinda like a hyper and a looper mixed together. Alot of people say its too rough but I rode it 7 times in a row and didnt get hurt. The only part of the ride thats rough is the 180 degree turn after the worlds best drop!
How can you possibly compare a wooden coaster to a steel coaster? For the record, Mean Streak has greatly improved since being retracked for this year.

Steel Phantom is really not that rough at all. It is a little intense, especially at the bottom of the big drop, but not rough. Just hold your head in place by pressing back against the head rest near the corkscrew and you will be fine.

Six Flags America IS a Six Flags park!
I have found out that the front and second to the last seat are very smooth on the phantom. If you sit here you will expierance very little if not any headbanging.
But the Middle Section of the train is a differant story.
Rough = Good
People say how much they hate the banging and lateral shifting of MS. Yet, they're head over heels about the airtime on Magnum. It's the same thing just on an up and down scenario instead of a left to right one. I can say that Magnum can't handle hills just like I can say MS can't handle turns. Some people like the the laterals (like me), and some people like airtime.

anyone who says mean streak is too rough, are pansies. compared to raging wolf bobs in roughness, mean streak is millennium force.
