This is great and all, but did Shockwave receive a fantastic little tunnel? I think not!

Brad, who also wonders how the time zone between OH and TX spans a year....

bigboy, Shockwave's loops do not touch, while the Quantum Loop at Seabreeze has two vertical loops that do. One could make the case that QL is the first coaster with two IMMEDIATE back-to-back loops. Anyway, QL seems to have an awful reputation, unlike the Schwarzkopf in TX.

Nitro, Gemini, Laser, Ice, Thunder...The American Gladiators!

No offense, but I'm sure SF in 1978 wasn't as... well, sleazy as we consider them now.

SFoT also has a false claim-to-fame, though. The say the Mine Train was the world's first tubular steel coaster, when, it was, in reality, none other than the Matterhorn at Disneyland.

(Below) Too true, BrandonR!

Take a look at the pics of the two rides:

Sure, the loops on SW don't touch. But there is probably only 15-20 extra feet between the loops on SW. I don't think you'd notice a difference if you rode one right after the other. Therefore, I don't think you could call the elements on QL "new and different".

Then again we can just go by the sheer quality of the ride and Shockwave would win hands down. :)
