Which drop do you prefer?

I was just wondering which kind of drop you all prefered, a downward drop with no curves or a curved drop?

Straight. Air gets killed on curved.

AC?, RB?, MF?, DD?, PR? Who can keep track of it all?

A straight drop with a slight drop before the main drop like on Raging Bull. You get some monster air coming over that hill!

Straight and steep.
I like drops "\" and I also like my drops "|"

Try Flight of Fear version 2.0: It's great!

Definitely has to be straight, although I did like the drop on Kumba and I don't think I'll mind Roar much either.

I have pretty broad tastes when it comes to drops. Sometimes I like the curved B&M Inverter drops, sometimes I like straight drops, and Ii always /ilove freefall drops; you get wicked airtime on those things. :)

"Enjoy your record-breaking ride on Millennium Force"

Yeah, I agree with MillenniumForceX...I enjoy straight drops but on some coasters like the inverts I like curved drops. Just depends on the coaster in my opinion.

I can't think of a good signature.

c'mon folks, where are the "spiral droppers" 'round hyeah? I personally LOVE the way the train hits a nearly-vertical section of a spiral drop and picks up SPEED in an amazingly short span. I know HW didn't include one on Legend just for me...;) Even the little Windstorm at Old Town had a nice twisting drop that *caught* me....and what about Phantom's incredible first drop...

But I'm also a big fan of turbo-drops....you just can't get those on a coaster...YET!

I love anything as long as its a drop and it doesn't kill me.

Millennium Force......It has its ups and downs.

I have 32 coasters in my track record.....I'm so proud of myself.

I generally like straight, steep drops better, but a good twist in the middle of a drop for that out-of-control feeling will make me happy every time :)

Defently for me Millennium Force's first drop, it was one of the most intense drops I have ever been on and if you sit in the very back seat it realy feels like your going to be pitched into Sandusky bay ;).

Wild Thing: 75Laps! Power Tower: 73 Rides. Valleyair Security 2002! 8Years Working at Valleyfair :)!

It just depends on the coaster. You gotta love the straight drops on RB, MF, Goliath, Raven, Boss, etc... but you also gotta love the first drops on The Legend, Raptor, Alpie, Roar, SFMM Viper and a slew of others. I prefer good first drops to lame first drops, how about that?

If the shoe fits, find another one.

I prefer the drop on whichever coaster I am on at the time... ;)
I LOVE the drop on Medusa W., even though it has that slight turn to the right if your in the back row and you have the restraint at the right distance from your body you'll get airtime at least half way down the drop!

I like shockwave's (SFGAm) drop. Probably because it was the first coaster I went on and I was so freaked when we started to curve down the drop. Now whenever I ride it, I think it is so fun. I also like RB's drop cause whenever I ride it with my friend, he's always like "Remember that there is a dip before the real drop" Oh the GP can be funny.

Just think, if every coaster had just straight drops it would get pretty boring after a while... I love both types of drops and as ravenguy98 said there are tons of great coasters with curved drops. Honestly, I couldn't see Raptor, Wildcat @ HP, or many other coasters without a curved first drop.. same thing applies for straight drops. Could you imagine a curved drop on MF or on Magnum?

It's all good, but I prefer straight drops. I think it's because I'm afraid of heights and it looks scarier to me.

Ridden 73 coasters so far. 24 were wood.
Plan on having over 100 in June. Wish me luck.

It depends on how the drop is curved. If you are talking about the virtual semi-circles like on SFGAm's Shockwave and KW's Phantom's Revenge, then no, those blow! No funny feeling in the gut at all.

But if you're talking about one of those curved drops where is goes down straight for like half a second then violently twists (see Anaconda @ PKD, ROAR @ SFA, Lighting Racer @ HP) then those ROCK! They feel like you are going to be forcibly separated from the train.

I'd like to see more straight drops on say inverts (like on Great Bear). But what I'd really like to see in an invert drop a small margin then do a half inline twist follow by a half loop for the drop (that's how I make the majority of my RCT inverts :))

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02

Jeremy, where HAVE you been....I've been trying to keep the devil's advocate position afloat all by myself the past week or so.....;)

Anyway, can I get a ride on one of your inverts? They sound FUN...:)
