The Whizzer is the last existing Speed racer in the US, it is a great ride and to tear it down would be like tearing down Leap the Dips, Schwarzkopf coasters can't be replaced and are classic, I agree the Demon is a monster out in California too and needs to go

It's a R-O-L-L-E-R C-O-A-S-T-E-R!
It's classic...it has nice swoops. It runs past trees and over water. It's nice to look at. The rolling stock looks neat. The lift hill is unique.
Nice pacing...overall cool ride.
Now the Demon is another story. The pacing goes like this:
Click Click Click
Whoosh
Woa!, Woa!
Yay tunnel!
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
and furthermore
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Rattle Rattle
Uuuugh
Yah...it sucks.
The lifthill could be put to better use.
Bring back the camelbacks!

Actually, the Whizzer is a real nothing of a coaster. It's good for a breeze, but that's about it. There really is nothing "thrilling" to it. That being said, I STILL think that it is an important element to the SFGAm coaster line-up as it is the closest thing that they have to a mine ride or 'family' coaster (Spacely's is a kiddie coaster IMO).

The Demon in California it like this,
Click click, woosh, ow that hurts, didn't there used to be rocks here, ow that hurts, ow bumpy tunell, ah trims smooth ahhh, turning, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow, ahhh brakes

I Liked Psyclone the way it was
I acctually think the whizzer is very entertaining. It has some of the better themeing in the park and has lots of fun and unexpected dips. Plus racing by those trees and nearly touching them is always fun.
Coasters don't always have to scare the hell out of you to be fun...

BTW...I asked some old ride operator friends...from what they understand, the cars were sold to another park, but the track was scrapped...

Well the Whizzer is defanitely a unique ride. I like the seating. I also like the spiral lift. The speed is pretty descent and the turns are pretty cool. Ride this coaster @ night and then tell me it sucks. It's almost like a whole different coaster @ night. Try it sometime...

The Whizzer is also a great coaster when you are with your significant other. If you are male, your female counterpart sits right in front of you. Now if thats not reason enough to keep this coaster, I dont know what is.

God bless those rides, and log flumes as well! :)

Forgive me for ruining your Whizzer love fest, but the one at SFGAm is going down at the end of the season for a new roller coaster. A high, fast steelie.

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!
ChiTown, I can't believe your old sig....too cool. Whizzer rocks, SO glad I got to ride it before the inevitable happens....shame I never got to experience Phantom Theatre...
P.S. Mojo Jojo is my hero, I always root for the villains....

Now that I saw the movie (PowerPuff girls), I should probably resurrect my signature to that old one. :) lol
X It to the Extreme: You are waaaaaaaaaay to late with giving us this newsflash buddy. Its been going in circles for awhile now. Still holds as a strong rumor. ;)

""To be the man, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!, You got to beat the man""!!!
Bring the Whizzer to FL, we need another non-Beemer, and nothing would do the trick like an Anton.....I'll find someone to machine the parts, or contact Anton's son, or I'll keep it together with "duck tape", lol....

Flashback: I'll let you in on a little secret:
The Whizzer sucks.
So does The Demon. In my opinion Demon should be the next coaster torn down at that park -- it is a reminder of a public relations nightmare and offers nothing unique or exciting.
Pssst. I'll let you in on a little secret. Last Row on Demon gives some of the best ejector airtime in the Midwest. ;)
No joke. I rode Demon last at SFGAm, and figured I was in for a ho hum ride. Yeah....I was in the backseat...best ejector air I've had except for Big Dipper at WoA.

No love for the whiners
Personally I like the Whizzer. We went to SFGAM on Friday. Apparently everyone else likes it to as it probably had the longest line we waited in all night besides Deja Vu. Either that or they are hearing the rumors we are!
The Whizzer has many fond memories for me. It is a great rollercoaster to go on with a significant other. IF you dont have a significant other to ride with....find one at the park!

Hay if you want to ride the Whizzer, go now. Last day is Aug 12.
I am sad to see the Whizzer go, but im afraid it just might happen. Well, whatever goes on, if the Whizzer does happen to go, hopefully something better will go in its place, but the thing is, you can't replace the Whizzer, its one of a kind.

The Whizzer was sold to a fair circuit down in Columbia and oeprates under the what I think translates to Columbia Speed Racer. I rode it back in 97' when we spent a week in Bogata before flying out to San Andreas
