It seems that RollerCoaster Designers more and more are trying to get rid of the riders view of the track, probably to give them more of a sensation of flying ... First came suspended coasters, then inverted, then floorless, then Flying, and now with the development of Arrow's 4th Dimension Coaster. So my question is, What's next in this evolution, and will there ever be a final sollution?

I think that "levitating" train thats being built in Tokyo is the direction that the technology will go!
The track will be built of a incredilbly strong clear plastic making the track appear invisible.
well I can dream can't I.

There's almost a limitless way to position the human body. There's a definite limit to what is comfortable. Designers have to make a ride thrilling while still keeping their riders (physically) comfortable. Seating-wise, I honestly couldn't tell you what's next. There are just so many possibilities, but I have no clue what effect they have on the body.
I would like to see the old "pipeline" coasters come back. It seemed like a great idea, but it definitely needed work. I'm not sure why Arrow stopped working on it; I think it was too expensive. Cars that ran between rails could definitely perform some wicked maneuvers.
According to Ron Toomer at CoasterMania a few years ago, Arrow simply ran out of R&D money. The first test went over well except for the fact that capacity would have been really terrible. At that point there was no money left to improve it.

A few others and myself have thought of making a train so that riders sit sideways. One way would be by taking Face-Off cars and rotating them 90 degrees.
