Where's Markey's Outrage? Just saying.

This is in just one park with 4,000,000 annual visitors.

They need to add lapbars and seatbelts.

I'm sheriff of this here rollercoaster.

At least they haven't cut down all the charm yet...

By comparison, in the same time period, there have been a grand total of [ 5 ] patrons killed in amusement parks in the United States*:

1. Benji Easler, miniature train crash, Cleveland Park, Spartanburg, SC
2. Brian Greenhouse, Hi-Miler, Ray Cammack Shows, Houston, TX
3. Jayson Dansby, Python Pit, Go Bananas!, Norridge, IL
4. Abiah Jones, Ferris Wheel, Morey's Piers
5. Sgt. James Hackemer, Ride of Steel, Darien Lake

--Dave Althoff, Jr.

* I thought there were 6, but I can't find another fatal incident.

And this hasn't even been a very good year for amusement park fatalities.

Or Maverick. Then I'd go.

Yes, sir. Eight posts to Maverick. I believe we've got a new record.

Visitor list is growing. Gonna need a hotel.

If CBuzz needed a hotel, it would already have one. It has Maverick, but no hotel. I see a problem with that... ;)

When and where did the "Or Maverick" phenomenon begin? Didn't it have something to do with naming coasters that have past-vertical drops?

When Hersheypark marketed their new Fahrenheit coaster, they billed it as being the only coaster in the U.S. with a beyond verticle drop, I believe. One reply during our conversation as to how untrue HP's claim is was "...or Maverick," and it stuck.

It actually started with SFoG's announcement of Dare Devil Dive, on the first page of this thread.

There it is. I am not a good CoasterBuzz historian.

Do you like pancakes?

LostKause's avatar

I met the pancake guy in person years later. I worked at Paddlewheel and he worked at MF. He got fired from Cedar Point for causing a scene at Holiday World on his day off. HW's people called CP's people to tell them what was going on, and they canned him. Poor, "nutty" kid.

He came back to CoasterBuzz after the pancake thing, with a different screen name, and a much better likability. He could still be here for all I know.

What has happened to Coasterbuzz?

Interestingly, the "do you like pancakes?" CBuzz meme came about without the original poster ever actually mentioning pancakes: http://coasterbuzz.com/Forums/Thread/26522.aspx

Here's the original "What Has Happened to Coasterbuzz?" thread: http://coasterbuzz.com/Forums/Thread/28249.aspx
