Where Would you put a new coaster at SFGAM besides

Even though its sad seeing Shockwave leave, my friend is so ticked off! But I think with it leaving, it leaves so much room, they could add A huge coaster there, and if not A huge one, maybe two. Good job they are doing.

There is loads of land between Viper and Whizzer .. Sadly I don't have a great photo of this area, but you can get a little idea by looking at these:

1. The Power Dive area could not fit anything bigger than a Wild Mouse or another shuttle coaster (which wouldnt happen because they have 2 already)

2. The area between Viper and Whizzer is actually not very big. The Whizzer actually takes up most of it, which leaves very little room. If they did put a coaster here, it would have to be VERY compact and small.

Their best choice IMO, is to remove Ice Mountain Splash and make the Picnic area much smaller (its like the size of Southwest Territory!) and build a coaster there.

Moonshine, Penguins, and Coasters...my three favorite things!! *not necessarily in that order*

The area between Whizzer and Viper *is* quite large. One of Whizzer's turns goes out almost to the railroad tracks, but there's a huge chunk of land in the middle of whizzer between the ground-hugging turn and the final helix. Additionally, there's the large strip behind Whizzer back to Viper, which stretches behind the Pictorium to the go-kart track. It's at least as large as the land Iron Wolf is sitting on.

As far as the neighbors restricting any coaster behind Theatre Royale, I don't buy it. I don't think we'll ever see a coaster go out over the lake, but there's tons of room behind the theatre back to the employee lot. Already there's a large sound barrier built, which could be extended if necessary. And remember, B:TR and V2 (two of the loudest rides in the park) are on that side and there wasn't much of a problem getting those installed. Shockwave isn't small (or quiet) either, yet it sat there for years without a sound barrier.

On the other hand, the area everyone is suggesting (Power Dive site) is quite small and couldn't really hold anything without removing lots of buildings (and taking up the employee/maintenance area). Ride the train once and it's very easy to see where the park has room and where it doesn't.

Man, I would build a new ride around where Yankee Clipper and Logger's Run are. Or I would build over the sound barrier and let the Village whine about it :-)

Have you ever been to SFGAm and seen Deja Vu closed? If you have then go again and it WILL BE DEJA VU!

Sorry I couldn't hear you, The voices in my head are drowning you out.

I would be EXTREMELY surprised to see another 4d this year....now that X is back up and running, we'll more likely see one in '04....but '03, just too soon, IMO.

It should be put in Orleans Place, no matter what. Hopefully WITHOUT having to take down Shockwave (but some modifications would definitely be OK ;) )

Orleans Place really needs a refurb.

I agree...there is quite a bit of land there. I checked it out yesterday on STT, and you really get a good view of it. Here are some better pics to give you a better idea...

My Coaster Count: 208

This is an easy one. I would put in the new coaster in the exact same place as the last one.... meaning remove Deja Vu and get something valuable.

I give that piece of junk 5 years max anyways....

Just a random thought about the residents of the village saying anything. Most of them bought their houses after the amusement park was built so they knew what they were getting into. That being said, not many are going to oppose new attractions being added to a park that reduces many of their property taxes by a huge chunk. The village of Gurnee has always worked real well with the park and the park has had little trouble getting rides approved when needed.

I think they should make like a huge tunnel bettween Viper and Raging Bull and it should lead to the parking lot were athe buses are and make a new area there and have the new ride there with couple other once. This just sorth of a sketchy idea so its a little bit weird. But somehow it could work.

I have a way to effectively increase the park's size by fifty percent and it wouldnt cost all that much to do. Take the back parking lot and build two large parking garages there ala Universal Florida. Run either a tram service or a few people mover belts down to the entrance. After that, the entire parking area and all the extra green space around it is up for use. You could then fit as many roller coasters you want without making the park look too cluttered. It would also make the whole parking experience there much more pleasant.

My vote goes for taking down shockwave and making it into a metropolis area and putting a couple of coasters there and a lot of flat rides like 4 or 5. it would work too.
