Where would we be without...

Who or what do you feel has completely changed the world of roller coasters? What do you think roller coasters would be like today if they had never come along? Would someone else have eventually come up with the same thing?

Hopefully you can understand what I am asking...

I would have to say Arrow, because without them, who knows, we could still be limited to wooden coasters! Also I would have to say B&M for revolutionizing the way we look at a modern steel coaster today.
Where would we be without CCI? They seem to have really revitalized interest in wood coasters.

Definitely has to B+M in the steel department. They created the first ever inverted, first ever dive coaster, and first ever floorless sitdown coaster.

Intamin for the first GIGA coaster.

Vekoma for the Super Invertigo with it's vertical drops.

And now Arrow for the tubular steel track without which none of the above could happen. and also the newly designed 4D coaster.

Roller Coaster Corp of America for the first HyperLoopinWoodie.

LaMarcus Adna Thomson. Without him, there would be no coasters period. Jhon Miller also bears mentioning as his safety inventions allow coasters to run without killing people, usually.

I'm with WildOne on this one.
Thomson for the Scenic Railways and Miller for the upstop wheels. Mostly we have seen refinements since then.
Where would we be without Vekoma boomerangs?!?!?

Or the labor unions that allow us higher wages to pay to visit the parks, the fewer hours to allow us the time to visit the parks, the abundance of resources to produce the rides... The sources are endless!

But in terms of more modern people/places/things to thank, I'd say one (among many) would have to be every roller coaster fanatic that has demanded bigger, better, faster, steeper, more inversions, more airtime, more thrills... Without us, there would be no industry to grow!

All of the crazy russian people hundreds of years ago that decided to make the first rollercoasters, even though they were totally unsafe.
PKI's The Racer thought to be the coaster which re-entered us into the second(current) coaster era.
