Where to go for Halloween fun

Hi everyone,

Dorney is really cool during halloween. i've gone there for a few years now and they get something new almost every year. i have heard from my friends that this year they have a lot of new things that will be much scarier than the stuff they've had in the past. i know they're getting a new haunted house and some kind of scary walk through thing with smoke and stuff.

GAdv was pretty bad the past few years. Brutal Planet was there for two years (once as a pay event and one not) and was great the first year, though I missed the second year. The hayride has gotten progressively sadder and the shows are still the same. I'd avoid it if you want fright zones as there were so few.

I've heard much good about Lake Compounce and hope to go soon, but I have been to SF NEw England and the Brutal Planet house was pretty good and the not so good Terrorvisions 3D house was there. This year might be interesting with the rumored waterpark being turned into a big fright zone. The fright zones were okay.

Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights was the best one I've been to and last year's event had 6 houses, arguably 5 of my favorites of all time.

WoF (one of the originals to have a Halloween event) has a pretty good festival. They are having "non-kiddie" Friday Night Frights this year which will be more intense then the all day Saturday events. They have three haunted mazes (Carnival of the Carnivorous Clowns, Lore of the Vampire and Camp Gonnagitcha Witchahatchet). They also have Fear Zone which is a lot like the ones at the other parks, only a lot better since it is in a valley that is usually pretty dark even during the normal season.

SFWOA had the best Haunted themeing and all around halloween fun of any park in the U.S.A and im not kidding(oh the goo ol' days). Ive never had so much fun at a park in my life. Im gettig goose bumps just thinking about it(lol). How much I loved Frightfest, words cannot explain.

This year I might hit up GL. But Im not a big fan of CP's Halloweekends, so we'll see how that goes.

Haunted Harvest at Hersheypark looks like it's gonna be something big. It is supposed to take up all three of the in-park catering areas (Tidal Force, Wildcat and Canyon River), with some big dollar stunts in addition to live actors. It is in addition to the standard compliment of rides, but is a rather large upcharge for admission. Yes, it is a departure of the previous "don't scare anyone" attitude at Hershey, but it promises to be something pretty wild.
