Where have the Stand ups gone?

Back in the mid 90's, stand up coasters became the latest and greatest rollercoaster! Smoother, longer, faster. Then, out of the blue, parks stopped building the stand up coaster....why is this?

They're a gimmick, and don't pull thecontinued popularity year to year that a good looper can. Look at how many people call for sit down trains on stuff like Mantis/Chang.

Greatest roller coaster!? LOL! I'm glad there aren't any being built.

...

There are so many more revolutionary things than standing up on roller coaster. Why build something that is generally painful and has restrictions when you can have a floorless or flyer. Or even a giga.

There are just too many new ideas out there. Launched rides with LIM's, compressed air and hydraulics. Flyers. Floorless coasters. Water coasters. Hyper and Giga coasters. And the latest, maybe the best of all, if and when it's fixed, The X. Parks are racing to find the money to build something unique or from the new bread of coasters. Standups are great, but there is so many other coaster designs to go with.
