When will Xcelerator's modifications be done?

What is the expected date for the modifications of Xcelerator to be completed?

I'm taking a trip out there from March 24th-30th, and I'm hoping that it will be done by then.

Taking out the crystal ball...

I honestly don't think anyone here knows. In fact, right now So Cal is being soaked by some serious rain. I would think that whatever their projected day to finish wasm it may very well have been pushed back because of this weather.

That said, it will reopen as soon as they are done with their work.

8 Days- 10 parks. May 2003

A little birdie at the park told me that Xcelerator will begin running one train on or about the 22nd of March.

Would someone give me a friggin idea for a new sig already ;)

They're also supposedly changing the yellow train to candy apple red. The cubby has been repainted to purple and red, and reports are that the new shells are on site.

My question is, When will I see construction photos of the retrofit?

Ah, why would they do that? It looks good as it is.

Don't ask me. But, originally the two trains were supposed to be red and purple. Someone goofed or something.

I could confuse Xcelerator's trains with Manhattan Express's trains very easily. They look very similar, the only main difference is the flames...

When we were there Friday and it really didn't look that different than it did when we were there Monday. A couple of braces have been added to the tophat supports, and I imagine those will be used to connect additional supports to the existing structure.

Yay for Intamin statues!

And as for the TR's, I just sent Kristin my contribution to the trip report (which I understand she was waiting for me to finish my share before she posted it, so it's all my fault). Expect to see them soon guys; sorry to keep you waiting.
