When will PKI demolition start?

I was wandering when Kentons Cove Keelboat Canal would be dismantled. Are the forklift, backhoe and bobcat on the access road for the demolition of KCKC? If they are I think demolition will occur soon. The only sign of demolition that Ive seen is the first conveyor belt has been removed.

Maybe they are taking it apart in such a way that they will be able to move it to either another park or another section of the park in the future. Although it may need to be rehabbed like Kings Mill Flume was rehabbed and now is Wild Thornberrys River Adventure.

What type of water ride was this?

KCKC was an Arrow Hydroflume, comparable, in basic ride design only, to White Water Landing at CP.

From what I heard, demolition began last week. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more missing when the park opens this weekend.

The equipment out by the Beast and KCKC is from Orourke Wrecking Company who is not known for piece by piece removal. They specialize in building demolition and I do not believe PKI would have hired them if they had any plans for removing the ride for instillation later. After talking to friend in maintenance, he told me that KCKC was not put up for sale prior to its removal and that he doubts that any thing will be saved from the ride besides mechanical parts that can be used on the Thornberries.

Well I guess that sucks for KCKC...as in it wont get to be reborn like Kings Mill Log Flume was. Oh well. Hopefully something better will be in its place.

According to URC`s forums, KCKC has been dismantled this past week which means construction should begin for the new ride soon (maybe after some tree clearing?) I hope to make it to the park sometime this weekend and find out more!
