When is Phantom's Revenge gonna open?

Does anyone know when Phantom's Revenge is going to open?
I was at Kennywood on Sunday. Read my TR for information about Phantom's Revenge.

KP opens daily May 11th, PR should be open by the 20th. All that's left is welding and testing.

Welding is quite a long process, though, even with 10 crews at a time.

It's going to open when it is done. This means when all of the testing is completed and the state gives it the green light. Not a moment before. Besides we all know who's going to get the first ride.
Hope it's done by June 5th! Even if it's not I'll be amped. I haven't been to Kennywood since 1987.

Just a note to confirm a closed topic: PR's height requirement HAS been lowered to 48" from 52". It was alluded to that this was simply a rumor and not able to be backed up; however I am a full-time employee of the park, have worked there for over a decade, and am telling you that this is indeed a fact. BTW, it's also posted on all of the park's height station signage.

Believe what you wish.

Did I mention our 37-coaster deal with B&M??

Any news on when it will open?
They would really like to have it up and running by Memorial Day weekend. I'm sure Morgan is trying their best to get it up and running by then. If the weather stays good and there is no surprises it should be operating soon.

Morgan has nothing to do with it: it's the welders hired by Kennywood that will make or break any target date.

Morgan may be involved with the testing, but (unless they screwed up in the design somehow [unlikely]) that shouldn't take a whole long time. A few days, a week at absolute most. Remember, all the mechanical and electrical systems are from the original ride, and are still in operable mode. The chain lift was actually running yesterday. The only thing changed is the "gravity" part... that's why the testing should be minimal compared to an entirely new coaster.
