When did Revolution at SFMM get shoulder restraint

just curious b/c it only has 1 loop
I'm not sure, but I think it was the late 80s or early 90s.

Intamin: Steel gifts from the gods.
CCI: Wooden gifts from the gods.
In the early 90's. I saw it somewhere on a site. I don't really mind about shoulder restraints. I really love the ride. Its really smooth and loop pulls some high gs.
If I'm not mistaken I think around 93. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Those shoulder bars don't have much to do with the loop. There are lotsa loopy coasters w/o em.

I heard they are on the ride b/c of what happened at Hersheypark a few years ago (some guy stood up and fell out during the ending helix.) It's too bad, that ride should be a top 5 steel coaster. Those harnesses suck! How stupid to put em on suck a classic coaster with those swoop drops.

Ow! My lap bar IS down all the way.
Good old SFMM ruining a classic Schwarzkopf coaster... Maybe they'll remove them in his honor.

No chance. It's already been stated by some SFMM people, that they're not removing them. Frankly, I've given up on the ride.

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
That ride would be a top 5 coaster. I'm disapointed that I never got to ride it without em but the day they were installed was the day that marked the end of a great era, and the begining of MM slaughtering all of their rides. Anton would roll over in his grave if they ever did this to Montez Rev.

Ghostrider = good
"I Love the Leader"
That's pointless...Look at FoF, a coaster with a lot of highy banked swoop drops and loopscrews, and it operates with only lapbars...

I can almost assure you that is bullcrap. If that happened, then Hershey would have put OSTRs on the ride. All the upper/middle management people at Hershey are safety freaks.
SFMM did not place OTSR by choice, I believe insurance costs are a factor. Never-the-less, the ride has become unbearable, which is a shame because it's got the greatest terrain layout ever for a steel coaster. SFMM wouldn't need an expedition G Force type ride, they already have one. If they could just find a way to get new trains(minus OTSR) for the ride.

It's not bullcrap at all. I did happen, it's made news in the ACE news. I'll look it up and give some refs if you want em :> Hersheypark was cool not to ruin the ride, and they stated it was totally the guys fault.

People on the ride kept on leaning forward and as they went through the loop they hit there head on the front car. So they added shoulder restraints.

Then again people who break the rules ruin it all for people who don't break the rules
they were added in 1993. Yes its true because of the insurance cost, and people leaned foward, and some people even broke there noses. never heard about the people hurting there head. rumor is if they get new trains, the insurance will still pay, and it will only have a lap bar. This may happen if Pepsi is sponsored by the park, instead of coke. Pepsi may re-do a lot of there rides, same for Knotts.
Insurance. It happened when they added trim brakes and the speed dropped by 5 MPH. 1993 is about right. *** This post was edited by Snoopy on 7/31/2001. ***
I was just thinking yesterday how nice it would be if they repainted the ride, put the trailing ligts back up on the loop, and got the new Intamin trains like you see on SROS and MF. Ah...in my dreams.
Yeah those special bullet train Schwarzkopf made to update his older coaster as sweet as hell. Look better than anytrain i ever saw but still they have otsr's that are found a traveling german fairs flat rides. They are better than sfmm but still no way.
