What's Your Impression of Arrow Loopers?

I love Arrow Corkscrew Loopers. The best one I've been on is The Orient Express at WOF. However I've been on others too

The Oreint Express - This is my most favorite ride with alot of things on it that are not on most looping coasters like the interlocking vertical loops and the tunnel at the start of the ride. I also like to tell you that this is the very first coaster ever to have a boomerang element of what we call the Kamakaze Curve. The Oreint Express will probally be here for quite awhile to come and is still one of the most intense coasters you can ride on. In fact alot of people say the first drop on The Orient Express is way better than the Mamba's first drop. The reason behind that is the g forces on the first drop on the Mamba are lighter than the Orient's first drop. In some cases size does not matter.

DiamondBack at FC - An arrow shuttle loop these things are crazy with lots of airtime. This coaster is way better than a Boomerang.

Tenn Tornado - The most B&M like arrow I've been on.

CP Corkscrew - Hmm I like the camel hump before the 1st loop. However I don't like waiting 2 trains on the break to get off the ride.

ExtremeRoller (Sitdown)(Standard Corkscrew) I never rode this as a stand up but still a sit down I was only 7 when I first rode it and it was scary as heck. What I didn't really like about it was a very short ride (I got spoiled on the Orient).

I am looking forward to riding more Arrow Loopers. I will enjoy them alot

That's not roughness that intensity

Well, the only Arrow looper I've been on is PKI's Vortex, but here's my thoughts:

I like Arrow loopers because they scream "I'm a thrill ride, not a La-Z-Boy!" Sometimes those darned Swiss coasters are just a little TOO smooth. ;) The airtime on the first drop is insane, the loops are intense, and I love the hangtime in the corkscrews. I wasn't bothered by the headbanging on FOF Version 1.0, so why should Vortex bug me? And I love the "Boomerang Up The Nose" from the midway.

I also think park maintenance comes into play, as well. PKI takes wonderful care of Vortex. Just recently, they removed all the "dings" and rough spots in the track, and gave it a new paint job this winter, and I hear nothing but praise. Ol' Big Blue should be around for quite a while.

Unless u know how to ride them only one word comes it mind................. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jeremy, THAT one got me.....ok, so it didn't really "paint a picture" but I think it was an exceptionally accurate sound-track, based on GASM-II and Viper. Thinking here is that if they understood that BANKING the track would reduce those uncomfortable laterals between the first three vertical loops, the rest isn't too bad. The corks on Vortex at PKI are the best on any Arrow looper IMO, because they're nice and slooowww....no headbanging :). Fun and intense, but the OTSR's certainly get a workout...

And now, the ratings section: (normally I use a "modified Griswold scale" when rating parks, but were talking coasters here, so no penalties will be assessed for long wait times....;)), but I'm an easy grader, so here goes...:

Anaconda: 2.5/5, loved the interaction with the water/tunnel, hated the element after the midcourse...

Carolina Cyclone: 3/5, minor penalty for using the Cyclone name for a steel coaster, but it was smoother than most...

CP Corkscrew: 6/5 hey, it's at CP...(just yanking chains...;)), I will honestly give it a 2/5. The air and loop were great, the location over the midway really nice, but bangy corkscrew elements...

Demon (PGA): 2/5 Good theming, nice verticals, water, woods, nice...not great corks either though....

Double Loop: 1/5...pretty rough, the real reason the park didn't grow until recently..just kidding, that would've been RWB...;). Transitions were jerky, or maybe I was just spoiled that day by all the smooth running NEW coasters at the park...

GASM-II: 2/5, giving the ride an extra boost...my first event was at SFGAdv, and a train full of enthusiasts just seems to make a ride more fun...:)...suffers a bit from poor transitions and harsh corks, but has nice HIGH vertical loops, and a great view of a beautiful park. Plus, I grew up in NJ (spare the jokes...;)), and I have a nostalgic feeling for the place...I remember the old ice-cream palace from visiting about 30 years ago...

LNM (BGW): 4/5. Two interlocking vertical loops, surprisingly smooth transitions, a view of the river and the landscaping, and a fantastically themed tunnel (you guys know what a sucker I am for theming). My second inverting coaster, nostalgia points again....if this keeps up, I'll need a tissue...;).

Steel Phantom: 2/5, scoring higher for being my first 200' drop, having a great view of this great traditional park, having speed to burn, and the best headchopper on a steel coaster. Minuses: everything KW took out....ouch!. I mean, the "no earrings" policy was a dead giveaway...can't wait to try PR.

Python (BGT): 0/5, giving extra credit for historical value to the park, the tree surroundings and even the Python Soft-Serv stand. Really, this coaster IS that bad....25 years old, and showing every bit of it...

Viper (SFMM): 2.5/5...by all accounts, it SHOULD rate the same as GASM-II, but the scenery is even better, and the ride was considerably smoother....got in about 4-5 laps over 2 days, and I'll ride it again!

Vortex: 3/5, one of the best Arrows IMO, the corks being taken so slowly provide air, dropping sensation, and NO headbanging....small wonder it gets the lines it does, even at it's age.

These ratings were effective at the time that I rode them...and only for myself....but it SHOULD be noted that my favorite Arrow rides are the mine trains! Make me feel just like a big kid....:).

They make a nice humming noise as the loop :)

Orient Express is extremely intense with a great first drop, but is VERY rough through the elements.

Arrow's transitions are rough because they are POWERFUL...just a thought as to why I love Arrow so much. I actually enjoy the insane moments these rides provide and the headbanging does not bother me. PKI's Vortex is one of my favorite looping coasters, period.

I get the feeling there's a conspiracy over at King's Island to remove anything that has "K" or "C" in its initials.

Anyone ever rode the Corkscrew at Michigan's Adventure? It has that interesting little loading station that's been mentioned a few times on these posts. This coaster was my first looping coaster that I rode way back when the park was called Deer Park Funland. It was a good ride for the time when I rode it. It's kind of nice to still have these rides for nostalgia purposes and helps break in coasters rides who will one day ride the big boys. Any thoughts on the MIA Corkscrew? Plus let me add it was just painted Orange!
They generally all suck because of the restraint system that smacks you in the head if you're not over 6 ft tall. Most of these rides would be just fine with some modern train redesign.

The Vortex(PKI),Anachonda, and Lochness Monster are by far the best loopers I've ever riden.:)

Ah, but if you ARE over 6 feet tall they're very nice...
