Whats with the V2 waits this season?

At SFGAm, the line for Vertical Velocity has been very short. The longest I'VE seen it started a few feet in the entrance and weaved in the mazes but not on the wood bridge over the water. About 45 min. Not bad at all. Last time on Friday there was no weaving and the line started just where the bridge part would start. Less than a half hour. Is the popularity down already? Is like this because of Superman? Is it like this w/ V2 at SFMW?

What are your thoughts?

(Also on Friday it was like that at about 4:45 PM.)

People are bored with it. It isn't a ride that might deliver a new experience.

I'm really enjoying these walk-ons. After getting tired of the ride in the latter half of the season last year, I was surprised to find myself in love with V2 all over again. The walk-ons tend to happen as the sun is going down, on both Batman, and V2.

Yankee Harbor in the evening hours is by far my favorite part of Great America. As the temperature gets a bit cooler, Batman is on fire, and is a walk-on. V2 and ERC are right by it, and also have no waits. It doesn't get any better than that...

I suppose people are bored w/ it since A LOT of people went on it in 2001 and its not gonna give a whole new ride.. I never went on it in the 2001 season because of the waits. It was rediculous! I too am am really happy that I never have to wait long at all to get on. All I need to do is get a front row ride.

The 1st time I was on it I really loved and was scared as hell before I got on. Screamed the whole ride. But I still love it. I take any advantage of it having a short line. I guess people are going on Superman now. (the lines arent as bad as I thought) Maybe once the crowds are at their highest in July we can see if people are rwally bored w/it. Hopefully it will ahppen with Deja Vu. IF IT EVER OPENS!

All I know, is that the whole park has been empty after 7 this year. I was able to ride Batman 7 times in a row last week.

Just went to Marine World today, and V2 is the ONLY coaster with minimal wait. Waited 40 minutes for Medusa and Zonga, 30 minutes for Roar, but V2 had a ten minute (2 train) wait! This is how it always is and only during Fright Fest have I seen the line outside of the station house. Just means more rides for me! :)

I'm enjoying the short lines with V2 and Batman early evening/late afternoon. I made a trip to SFGAm yesterday, and encountered at 40 minute wait for S:UF around 6pm. Yeah, we'll have to see in July with what happens with the queueing lines.
Yeah, SFGAm usualy starts to get long lines in July when it starts to get hot. I'm guessing V2's line will get more crowded too. From my past experiences in June SFGam is usualy not crowded.

The rideops for V2 at SFGAm are doing a good job of getting the train moving between riders. As soon as the the train pulls into the station, the gates open up. They also have 5 ride ops now which speeds the process along greatly.

I went today and waited about 15 minutes which to me is pretty good.

Superman is taking away alot of potential riders which is fine with me because right now I am "Supermanned out". :)

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

I agrre that the ops are doing really well. The capacity is really good as far as I know compared to the 1st season it was open. And it does say on the six flags website for great america that the crowds are low on any day in june.

Well the longest wait I've had on S:UE was about... 10 minutes this year and that was for the front seat. Usually it is a direct walk on and you can pick your seat. I have rediscovered S:UE and even rode it 35 times one night!
Midweek in June is the best time to hit Six Flags Great America .. all the lines are short. Enjoy it while you can, after July 4th the place will be packed until September.

steve cool im going to sfwoa in aug. any tips. also going to cp. for honeymoon. i go to sfgam every 2 weeks some times once a week
What day in August? Weekend or Weekday?

If on the weekend, expect longer lines for everything. 20min waits for S:UE, 40min waits for BKF, 1/2hr waits for Villain, etc.. But if on a weekday, expect half if not more then half of those lines.. But who knows, somedays you think it will be packed and its empty, and vise versa.
