whats up with B&M and their height problems?

TrBiggar said: Also on RB there isn't really any vibrating at the bottom of the hill, and as you say, it's "only" 72 or 73 miles per hour.

The only major vibration on Raging Bull is on the drop under the lift (before the midcourse).  For some reason the trains shake like *crazy* on that drop, as if it needs new wheels, but it doesn't do that anyhere else.

As far as the trains being "too heavy to provide airtime," I really don't see how the heck that would matter.  The weight of the trains should have absolutely no effect on how much airtme you get.

Finally, Joe is right; if you know how to ride the B&M hypers (lap bar position) you'll have no trouble keeping them up during the ride.  I get nice airtime every time I ride, including some fantastic ejector air on the first drop.

OK, gotta speak up for the minority here.  I will readily admit the Beemer hypers I've been on (AC, Nitro) DO have airtime....floater air, relatively sustained.  There you go!  Now for MY side...buwahahahaha!  I WAY prefer the EJECTOR-type air on a sit-down coaster, or heavy positives, like that yummy Goliath, which I like a *little* better than either of the Beemers.  (Wow, I just may PAY for that, lol).  But I thought S:RoS for steelies, Phoenix/ThunderHawk for woodies, (note: add the "spooky" double-down on KW's JackRabbit) gave ME the kind of air that I like, "throw Papa from the train"-kinda air.

B&M will go to 300', it WILL happen sometime, but I have to say I hope it's an inverted when it happens.  I want a downward helix like Fire Dragon has for about three consecutive rotations...but Fire's other "signature move" is also a biggie for me on the inverteds, the floater air on them is "special" and WAY more enjoyable for me.  NO way you'd need that height on a flyer, I think SFoG's will suit me just FINE!!!

RGW: Then you might actually like Alpengeist. It has a perfect sprial first drop.

While I'm usually a fan of ejector air, I really do like the B&M coasters. I think the layouts of NITRO and AC are relatively pedantic, but the *execution* of those layouts is great. The rides are very fun and quite re-ridable. I *LOVE* the 'broken camelbacks' on NITRO and well, I've yet to ride a steel coaster I liked more than Raging Bull (Titan here I come! *elbows-Joe*)

But I dont think there is a height problem here.

LOVED Alpie, the coaster that got me HOOKED on theming...and YES, you can apppreciate it at those speeds!

TX trip is "on the books" for this year for us as well...quite possibly get to SFGAm on the SRM/CoasterMania trip for the Bull, Viper, and Eagle sdrawkcab!  Never been to IL, or MI for that matter...hmmm.  One week between SRM and CP....

That would be the perfect ammount of time to go to Big Chief's in Wisconsin Dells, SFGAm, Indiana Beach, and Michigan's Adventure!!!!!!  And the drive times would allow you to do the different parks on consecutive days if you really had too. Now only if you can get the time off work to do it in!

beast7369...getting the time off is relatively easy, I work for the State of FL.  Their motto is:  We don't have to PAY you, you get all this beautiful weather and LOADS of leave with which to enjoy it"!  How on Earth our "esteemed" governor is responsible for the weather is another issue altogether...LOL.

The BIG question is how many parks can I drag Jill to...or, will she let me go on the trip alone if I'm visiting all these parks she's never been to...SFGAm is a "definite" though, and IB too...but I can't get that close without visiting Timbers, and Big Chief's HAS the park I want, Karts and Koasters, baby!  Must be time to haul out the old "coaster-trip planning atlas"...LMAO.
