Roller Coasters arn't fun! They are really fun!

Those are the towers for the Slingshot (someone correct me if it's called something else). They were testing it with park employees yesterday afternoon. We watched them launch it a few times. They were also setting up a photo or video booth for it.

If so, that is one AMAZING upcharge.....I rode the one in Old Town, and while it was expensive, it was FAR scarier than any other ride I've been on....of course, the second the tension releases off those springs, time slows down.....then....it all becomes a meaningless blur....."I hope I live to tell about this".....;)
I saw it today and people were rideing but i didnt ask if it was a charge ride.
Yes it is an upcharge ride. I belive it is $6.00 per rider, but don't quote me.

GO HUSKERS!

While waiting in line for it on Monday at the park :P I was told it would cost up words of $20 and if this is true I HIGHLY suggest you get all your spare change out of your car and go ride it. Its very fun and quite diffrent from Dragons Wing (but then again its a lot scariers too be "testing" out a new ride for free (The park will only give you something for free if there geting somethign back) then too go and pay for it and know its safe)

So is getting to test the new ride a perk of being a park employee, or are they just cheaper than sand bags or water dummies :)

Anyway... this it just a standard Slingshot (the kind you would find at a state fair), not the same as the monster at Old Town... (however, even a small Slingshot has much more of an "oh crap I'm gonna die" factor than most rides...)

When I was working at SFStL in the early 80's they used us to test the Rail Blazer. We were thinking the same thing as you. What a painful day that was.

Its only a perk up intill the point were somethign goes wrong, then its just your fault. And its much cheaper, because all SF has to pay for is the paper and the pen you use too sign the waver, saying there not at fault for ANYTHING.
