What's the reason?

Why was the topic about Mantis being changed to a floorless closed? They were talking about something that they wanted to talk about. They weren't being offensive, and weren't arguing. They were talking about a subject that, although far-fetched, was a viable subject.

I understand that this is a moderated board, but I don't get why "moderated" means "certain people choose what you get to talk about because they may think it's stupid or pointless."

I think alot of people are upset with this kind of thing.

I am not a moderator, but even I can tell you that the thread was going nowhere. Look at the last few posts, they are about Knott's and wooden coasters, not Mantis or floorles coasters.

Besides, the original question had been answered.

When a thread begins to stray from the topic at hand, you can pretty much bet that it'll be nuked. Also, among threads that get nuked:

Poor grammar usage and spelling.

Noise.

Flaming.

Repetitive threads (i.e., stuff that's been discussed many times before.)

Thread topics that are inconclusive of the subject matter, such as this one.
