What's the deal with the Outer Limits: Flight of F

I heard from some people that the Outer Limits and PKI has loops. I read that on a website too. But the PKI official website doesn't mention any inversions which makes me think there aren't any. Can anybody clear the air for me?
Yeah,its got 4 inversions.
it has 4 inversians and is also a very ruff ride(came off with a banged up head)

The only way to comfortably ride Outer Limits is in the front seat, with your head tilted out of the giant head claw (they call it a restraint). If you can do this, it's actually quite fun.

I almost set up a cart selling asprin at the exit- and would've made a fortune. I also agree, a good ride. Part of it is the excellent build-up of anticipation: No one would tell you what was waiting for you in the silo (have they changed this; does anyone talk about the coaster layout yet, or are the ops still "hush-hush?") And then there's the small loading area, with dark lighting and alien themeing, and the way all the ride ops take their positions away from the platform with their hands each on a seperate "kill" switch. Probably one of the few coasters I was actually hesitant to stepping onto, fear of the unknown...
I've rode the Outer Limits twice. The first time I rode I had no idea what I was in for, I got a headache, and it decided to rain right when I stepped off the ride. It ruined my day. I really hesitated on stepping back on for another try this season. But, I did. I rode front seat and did just as Jeff said. It was an awesome ride! I havent riden a better themed coaster. BTW: Does anyone else get a bit nervous when they see the stickers saying "Keep head on back of seat during launch"? :) :) :)

Everybody thinks this ride is rough. I have not had any problems on this one. I think rider height has something to do with it though. I do fall into the majority as far as Mean Streak is concerned though. MS is a back breaker IMO.
I rode outer Limits at PKD for the first time last season. I thought it was rougher than the Steel Phantom. It would be ideal for everyone it it had lapbars like the Sooperdooperlooper at Hershey of the Laser at Dorney. With earings in it made my ears red! It should be called The Mike Tyson Experience. I'll have to agree the themeing ig great with the spaceship you enter and the silo appearing to be Hangar 18.

I can't wait for the 2000 season to start!!

I'm not sure the ride itself is that rough, but the restraints swallow up your head. Anything that restricts the movement of your head that much turns every little change in direction in to something painful.

By the way, check the Intraxx site to see the model, if you'r curious as to the layout (search for Intraxx on the this site).

Or you can look for pics of rides like Joker's Jink, Mad Cobra or Poltergeist becuase those rides are indentical to OL:FOF just outside. Additionaly, Outer Limits is much smoother at PKD.
when i rode OL i thought it was relly rough as well. Besides the horrible horse collars, i think the disorientation caused by the cobra roll (i think that's what happens first) causes one to not know what's happening after that. I found the ride after the block breaks really fun. Perahps the initial speed is to high for the elements in the first half. Just an idea.
I never rode a coaster that I didn't like until I rode Outer Limits. They have made some adjustments to it since its first season so it isn't as bad as it was, but, it can still be very painful to ride.

Some people have no trouble with it at all. It depends on how you fit in the coaster. If your head is the right size and your are the right height, perhaps you can have a pleasant ride experience. My usual riding parnter has no trouble on Outer Limits but the ride almost kills me.

Well I gotta say after last weekend I agree with everybody who says its rough. I hadn't ridden it for 2 years, but I got the crap beat out of me this year. It was way rougher than I remembered it. The launch is still cool though.
This year at kings dominion they but more pads in the over the shoulder harnesses and put brand new wheels on the cars. It feels like a different ride.
Next time you ride it (if ever) keep your head on the left side of the shoulder restraint. It makes for a MUCH smoother ride. Also, sit towards the middle of the train.

I have been on OL:FOF a hundred times (making for about 1000 hours in line) and I still don't know how many inversions are on the thing. I always feel like I'm upside down!
Yea I knew it had inversions. But to tell you the truth, when I rode it I really had no idea how maney times, I went upside down. It wasnt really rough to me, And as everyone knows. At the break section, they nearly stoped it there now "for the 2000 season". To make it a easier ride to ride. But it wasnt really that bad to me before. But it is something really diffrent. To blast down a tunnel you cant see. And to just start going everywhere, totally loosing any thought of wear your at. It is a great themed indoor ride. Its like Space Mountain on Steroids.
Flight of Fear blows. Felt like I went two rounds with Mike Tyson after riding it. If I want to get beat up on a ride, I'll save some time and walk on the Racer in five minutes. RIDING TIP: Sometimes at PKI you can just walk right on the Racer and get right back on over and over. If the park isn't busy, do this, but ride it forward at least twice... Get use to heading left at the split, then ride it backwards, when the train spits right instead of left it will freak you out... at least for a second.
