WHATS THE DEAL WITH STAND UP COASTERS?

Ga. Scorcher is a GREAT stand-up, short but NO mid-course brakes. I love most stand-ups, but I do think the B&M's are smoother than TOGO rides at time of installation. Chang I thought was a little rough when I rode it this year, and I didn't think Mantis was as smooth this year as it was in the past.
As far as standing ON the ride, I stood up for all of 5 mins. to ride Ga. Scorcher, about the same for RR, and I like the change in the way the ride feels. I could see your point a little better after waiting 1-1/4 hours for the (much shorter) King Cobra at PKI.

I thought Mantis rode awesome when I rode it earlier this month. I didn't really feel any roughness at all.

i been on the Mantis at CP and i hated it. i already made a vow to never, ever go on a stand-up coaster again.and it isnt because of head banging, it is because i thought my calves were gonna explode. i went on it 2 times to see if it was just a bad ride the first time but it was horrible the second time too!!

Hell yeah! That's would be one heck of a marketing ploy..."You'll have so much fun your calves will explode!" :)
