Whats instore for dollywood in the future?

This is what I heard, Dollywood will be adding a new ride in the thunderhead gap area and a new resturant the area too, I also heard that a new kids area will added aswell, but I'm unsure where this area will be at.

So whats your input on this?

This is already being discussed in another thread:). Search function is a friend for sure:).

My sources tell me none of that will happen in 2006.
You sure about that?

A Thunderhead team member informed me construction started this week behind the restrooms in Thunderhead Gap, and that the announcement will probably be made next week as part of Kidsfest when Dolly is at the park. One of the Herschends was up in the area at the site the other day.

Whatever is being built, it's not a roller coaster.

The Lucky 7 Mine/Old Dolly Museum will probably be torn down soon as well. All of the inside rockwork is removed and the jewlery shop and pan-for-gold attraction in the tunnel is closed.

There is really no need to make another thread when there is fresh one just a few days back. ;)

You are correct, the constuction for 2006 is NOT a coaster. Will the park get any non-coaster ride[s] next year? Possibly, but I'd file what they're doing between Thunderhead and Moutain Sidwinder under "general park improvements."

really your wrong and right, you see they are removing the lucky seven mine area for a new addtion, but the thunderhead gap adttion is going to be a new resturant a new thrill ride (i did'nt say a rollercoaster) and kids area!

We'll know when the park announces. I'm not going to give any of the specifics of what I've been told, and what I've been told may not be the entire picture.
"they are removing the lucky seven mine area for a new addtion"

I think the Lucky 7 Mine will be torn down just because the building is old and it doesn't have any use now. Not for a new addition...

Let us hope moosh is alluding to a path between Thunderhead and the other part of the park so that you don't have to walk down 20 miles from THead gap to the enterance, then 40 miles over to the bottom of Tornado's hill, then 100 miles up the hill.

Coastering at dollywood is tiresome. Thankfully, it is worth it.

Wish I could tell ya, Tek...honestly I have no idea.
Wouldn't dare ask ya, moosh:).

You can ask...I still don't know anything.
Regardless, I stand my my "Dollywood is fine the way it is and I'll be happy with anything, or nothing at all. As long as they stop making me cross country hike from one great woodie to one great steelie" stance.

:)

LOL...having just been there I couldn't agree more. That's a LOT of walking ;)
What's in Dollywood's future? ME! I just don't know when...

I'm sure there are things planned for the park but with Thunderhead in 2004 and Country Fair in 2005, I can see the park taking a year or two off to make some general improvements to their infrastructure. Besides, those kinds of improvements are usually the ones that precede something bigger and more exciting.

Well, Rob, there is a group of us going again this December. You really should think about it, it was so much fun last year.
I've been thinking about, it's just finding the time that's the problem. Mention your plans to me in October or November and I may have to search for some cheap airfare!
What's the future hold for the furture's furture?

Is anyone else getting a little tired of this kind of post? Quick-Someone make a new topic for whatever park's future.

Amusement/Theme Parks were fun last year and they will be fun next year too, but the best thing about them is that they are fun right now.
