What's going to happen at Darien Lake and Elitchs Gardens?

Is Superman being renamed? If so What? But Anything for EV?

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

^ If anything, the SUPERMAN prefix in the name will be dropped and it will retain the name RIDE OF STEEL.

My guess is that The Mind Eraser will also go through a name change, as well as Viper.

It was Viper before Six Flags had a Viper if that's worth anything.

Any ride that has a trademark owned by Six Flags or Time Warner would be renamed. This also goes for rides at Elitchs.

There's also the Looney Toons kiddy area and rides which will need renaming and "untheming" along with Superman and Mind Eraser, at least at Darien Lake. It appears that Hook's Lagoon, Crocodile Isle, Grizzly Run, and the "Coast to Coaster" suffix on their Boomerang are also SF trademarks or service marks. *** Edited 1/24/2007 12:55:27 AM UTC by Ben Nelson***

Schwarzkopf shuttle loops...The most possible fun in 36 seconds.

^^ Are we sure about Grizzly Run?? That ride was named Grizzly Run when they opened it long ago, and long before SF took over the park.
It showed an SM (service mark) next to GR on the 2006 SFDL map on their site. That's what I was basing it on. I'm pretty sure it has been Grizzly Run ever since it opened in the late 80's, while Darien Lake was still under Funtime Parks at that point. Premier didn't buy that chain (which also included Wyandot and Geauga Lake) until 1995 or 96. *** Edited 1/28/2007 2:20:15 AM UTC by Ben Nelson***

I just hope they keep them in good condition with most of the rides.

^Well if that's the case then how was GL able to keep the name for their water ride?

There are only three rides at Darien Lake that most likely have to be changed. Mind Eraser, of which is Six Flags trademarked, "Coast to Coaster"... although "Boomerang" can stay, and "Superman: Ride of Steel".

The other rides can & will keep their name (if they choose to do so). Shipwreck Falls will stay, as it did at Geauga Lake. Grizzly Run will stay (again, as it did at Geauga Lake), and of course... the Funtime names will stay, since they were not trademarked as part of Six Flags (ie: Viper).

The only area that will see numerous name-changes is at the so-called Loony Tunes Seaport, but considering it was Popeye's as recent as '98, it won't be that difficult in terms of anti-theming or naming.

I'd just like to have the local papers elaborate just a weeee bit more on their plans for the future of each park, as it's been rather quiet the last week or two since the announcement.

I think the local papers will start to elaborate on the parks future plans once the sale is finalized and the new owners start to talk about what they want to do with each park.

Since the looney tunes seaport needs to be re-themed, I wonder if they stored all the stuff from the Popeye days or if they dumped it?? If they saved it all, they could easily just bring it right back and easily re-theme that area too
