Vegas is a yearly trip for me because of a convention in December, which allows me to enjoy a Cirque show or two, and some great food and drink while there. Otherwise, I don't think I would make a trip to the city just for funsies. Last December when I went, I was shocked to see that rooms at the Stratosphere were only $11 a night! That is crazy.

That's still too much. 😆 But there are a lot of great hotels that used to be cheaper, especially before the Sphere opened. Prices vary wildly now. I remember the Venetian routinely being $150 at most, and those were really nice rooms. You can still get that price, but only if there's not a concert or conference nearby.

Which is why I continued down the list and booked a Jr. Suite (or whatever it was called) at the MGM for $55! I know the MGM is older but it's still a pretty nice hotel and at $55 a night, a damn good deal.

MGM signature is a good choice too, tucked back behind the pool you have a non smoking hotel with no casino on the first floor. Every room is a King Jr suite and you have an exclusive pool and hot tub (but can still go to the main MGM complex.)
2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando
After sitting for like 10 years? I feel like that has the potential to be way more trouble than it's worth.
So new for 2025/6 at Indiana Beach?
I imagine the steel bits, maybe even the train, will be fine. I mean, running roller coasters all over the place are older than that. The motors, I'm not sure, but also because it's my understanding that the capability of newer equipment is far more robust and efficient. I'd love to see this thing end up anywhere. I know it's short, but I enjoyed that for what it was.

I liked it too. The best coaster in the Vegas area at the time (not that there was an enormous amount of competition for that....)
I develop Superior Solitaire when not riding coasters.
I'm vaguely entertained that they're advertising it as being capable of 1600 per hour. I reckon that leaves them about fifteen seconds to unload, load, and dispatch.

It was my second favorite in Vegas, I had a slight preference for the NYNY Togo, whatever it's called now. I've always wanted to see Speed at a new location since NASCAR Cafe closed.
Speed would look pretty wacky on a flat, open site. It had some subtle curves around the building, a trench/tunnel and some support structure to take it over the road.
I can't imagine there is going to be a ton of interest, it presumably costs something to store it where it is (I've no idea where the train is, I don't think it's with the track) - so if someone is interested it, I can't imagine they're going to have to pay a lot for it.
* ... but someone did, in fact, inexplicably, buy T2/T3.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
I just drove over and saw Speed in June. (It's right next to the Pinball Museum. There were no trains there. The track is just laying there, roasting in the sun. and it certainly doesn't look like the whole ride is there either. Too few track pieces, and way too few supports.
I also loved Desperado, would like another chance to ride... It gave a spaced out - desolate feel; a perfect clunky Arrow. I'll take over B&M/Intamin any day. Full of personality.
The flume at Buffalo Bills has apparently been spotted testing, with a new op panel.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
I realize that it's indoors, but it's still weird to see a water ride with a carpeted station.
Maybe there's hope for Desperado after all.
