What's Fearfest like this year?

I wanna hear from the coaster world now! All my friends who have been so far have said it was pretty lame. Is that true for you too?
I didn't specify, but I was referring to PKI's Fearfest.

If your going primarily for the FearFest attractions, I'd save my money. Was there on Sat. Oct 4th, and the lines for their attractions were horrible. Maybe this is just because of being the first weekend of FearFest, maybe it has something to do with this being the first year it was included with general park admission.

Most of the lines at 8:30 - 9:00 were 2+ hours for their Haunted attractions. To me, that 2 hours wasted that I could be getting in a ride on Beast, or some other good ride.

We did hit Elvria's superstition, earlier in the day (4pm or so) when the line was only about 45 minutes long. It was fairly enjoyable, for what it is.

As a side note, I was disappointed in the theming they did for the park for the Fest. Very sparse throughout the park, and I expected much more from a park that is into themeing.

Just my 2 cents worth

It was HORRIBLE!!!!!

BIG trip report and pics coming after I recover.

Haunted Ohio Parks...you've been warned!!

Thanks for your replies so far, I knew I could count on my coaster brothers & sisters. I'd been hearing a lot of your sentiments echoed again and again since I started the post so I'll probably just go if there's nothing else to do some day. But please keep adding to the reports y'all.
For anyone who has gone, which attractions open at 3 and which wait until its dark? Also, do you think that the fact of the sun still out take away from the haunted houses? I always associated haunted houses with night time and was wondering if some of them might be better at night.
Here goes what they have on their park guide for operating hours for Fright by Night attractions:

Route 666 8pm-Close; Curse of the Crypt 3pm-Close; Psycho Path 8pm-Close; Circus of Horrors 3D 8pm-Close; House of Darkness 3pm-Close; Maze of Madness 3pm-Close; Elvira's Superstition 3pm-Close.

Having gone to FearFest last year, and yesterday, I must admit that it was better last year. First of all, last year, Coney Mall was shrouded in a ton of fog by fog machines. This year, the only fog machines could be found in the huants. Also, the games building in Coney was decked out in red lights, this year, the normal white lights. Also, last year the lines were really short. On Saturday, the line for Psycho Path started by the pop machines by Flight of Fear! One worker was reporting it to be a four hour line, although I think it was probably closer to two. One problem with that line and the line for Maze of Madness (which is the only haunt I actually did) is the amount of people that seemed to cut in line. There was really no form of a line except those lines of paint on the path that led into the woods. Also, all the shops on international street were closed by 12:05, including the restaurants. I enjoyed FearFest a whole lot more last year when you had to pay about $18 to enter with a season pass.

According to a few people on another website, PKI assumed that because Fear Fest is free with admission this year, there would be more families in attendance. More families = Less themeing. I suppose they don't want to scare the children that will be at the park.

I don't know if this is true or not, but the themeing this year is horrible. There wasn't even 1/4 of the themeing that was present last year. I understand why PKI is going for the family atmosphere, but that is supposed to be during the day. Fun by day, fear by night. What's the point of going to Fear Fest, when it is practically just the park at night? Why not just go during the regular season when all the rides are open? I hope PKI learns that Fear Fest needs to be scary ( at least try to be ) at night.

Intelligence is a God given gift: Know how to use it.

Hearing all these bad comments about long lines and no themeing does anyone think that things may change for the up coming weekend? I can't really see them adding much midway themeing because they must have a reason why its not out there already. I can see them trying to shorten the intervals in between groups in the houses though. Maybe on Psycho Path instead of groups every ___ secs they send them through quicker? This could increase capacity but also hurt the effects. In a maze if they send groups in too fast a line from the beginning to end forms which totally throws out the purpose, which is to get lost. A large group is harder to scare than a small one aswell.
Someone whip them into shape before this weekend when I will be there.
