What's CP doing with the old pirate ride?

The space is just a shell. No arcade/ No Pirate Ride. What's Up?

They removed it for the 500 foot coaster they're adding next year.
Actually.. the majority of the space that was the ride (the show building) is storage for Park Services now. As for the front of it.. no clue..

Yeah theres about 5 or so offices in thier as well, and the rest is storage for park services, aka brooms, hand rail cleaner, toilet paper, throw up cleaner, etc, etc. Just all in verly large quanities as you would excpect for a park of CP's size.

There's a sign posted on the building that reads: "Cedar Point is building for the future."

I wouldn't look foward to a ride there next year, but soon. That building is pretty large, and is in a very good location.

Has anyone else seen the sign on the building? It must be small because I didn't see it. Although I wasn't looking at the building that critically.

Something must be up. While riding Mean Streak last week, I noticed one of the old PIRATES standing next to the coaster after the first turn after the first drop. It looks like Patchy the Pirate from Spongebob!! Anyone else seen him???

The mystery continues.

Looks like some people are having formatting difficulties....

I think this space would be great for a few new flat rides.

I saw the pirate out behind Mean Streak. They've been setting him up in front of Ocean Motion during Halloweekends for the past few years. My guess is that they're really slow about putting it away.

As for the building, I can't see a huge ride going in that area. That midway extension is surrounded by Raptor and Blue Streak. Unless they remove the Turnpike or go over the road into the marina parking lot, a large ride won't go there. A big flat ride, however, will work there. Heck, it'll probably work now as large as that midway is.

I just rode it. I didn't see the pirate.

I was in the building(worked at cp in 2001-02) and there is stll tire marks on the floor fron the ride and also some of the arrows and doors still remain from the ride.

This is one ride I wish they would of never removed from the park. I miss it a great deal plus it leaves a void in the park.

Also, shvering tim is right, they do use some of the props from the pirat ride during halloweekends. You can also see one of the pirats in the window of one of the buildings near ocean motion(at least it was there all last season).

I agree that a new dark ride in it's spot would be cool.
