What You Can Do to Improve the Boards

Folks, for the love of Pete, would you please reread your posts before submitting them. The lack of spelling or attempts at any kind of sentence structure have really been evident as of late, and I think if you folks would all try and make some sort of attempt to spellcheck your post before you post it'd help.

Sorry if I'm coming across as a jerk, but poor spelling, and half *** sentence structure can make a person come across as more incompetent then they really are.

This is just funny, considering the grammar errors in your own post.
is "it'd" a word?

Out of curiosity, how old are people here? I get the impression of a lot of kids around the age of 13 or so because of the language, spelling, etc used.

Ender: you are correct.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

Well, seeing his signature I really dont think he is 13. But he probably made those spelling mistakes because he was annoyed and irritated about all the little kids, including myself, that make spelling and grammar errors.

I think you need to be a little more respectful. Not everyone can write a college level paper on a forum complete with spell check. Suck it up and deal with a fragment here or there. If it gets its point across then don't worry about it, you still understood it!

Is sentence structure and vocabulary use really that big of a deal? I mean, we're not having an exam on proper sentence fluency or anything.

It'd is in fact a word. Its a contraction of it would.

To most people I appear young (15) but I do try to make my posts at least understandable. I mean yes sometimes people make mistakes(no ones perfect)but sometimes it does get a bit out of line.

You are right, we're not. However, it's not much fun to sit around trying to decipher someone's post. this is what i mean by annoying posts some people may not mind it but a lot do and we see a lot of this here on coasterbuzz please make an effort to write sensibly thank you.

Personally, I don't mind little grammar mistakes or spelling errors. I just hate when people use fragments, run-ons, or sentences that make absolutely no sense.

The only thing that gets under my skin is the improper use of "breaks" and "brakes."
VF Fan, be damn sure before you post something like this that you haven't made a mistake yourself. You left out the word "of" in the phrase "some sort attempt".

I will agree that spelling can be abhorrent on this site. Just check out my signature for my biggest pet peeve. I keep a dictionary nearby when I'm unsure about a word. For example, I at first spelled abhorrent with an "ant" instead of "ent". It took me all of 20 seconds to look it up and to make sure I had the right meaning.

Like the terms of service says, I don't mind the simple spelling errors or the transpositions, but when the whole post or trip report is rife with spelling errors, it does make the author look stupid.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
