What would you do with Great Escape?

i think they should get a new coaster, this year six flags inc (premier parks) has been adding coasters to the littler parks, (SFNE, SFEG, etc) so i shoild hope they still do this for some years to balance out some parks, im not saying turn them into SFMM or SFGAdv. but at leats give them something, i hope they get something new, my family goes up to lake george every other year so it would be great to have a nice coaster there.

Out of the coasters i've ridden here is what I rank them overall:(ive been to canobie lake and SFNE)
1. S:RoS 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Riverside Cyclone 4. Canobie
Corkscrew 5. Thunderbolt 6. Galaxy 7. Mind Eraser 8. Dragon coaster 9. poison ivy's tangl
The Great Escape isn't exactly a "smaller park" either. In fact, as a whole... it's much larger in terms of area size than New England! Not only that, but they also own a whole lot more land to expand upon than New England does... so they are more of a medium sized park in overall size.
As for rides & all... yeah, they fall on the smaller end. Their overall attendance is under a million guests. That's pretty pitiful considering SFDL is much smaller, in a small market, but racks in 1.5 mil a year on average and growing!
What would I personally do with The Great Escape?
1) I'd rename it to Six Flags Adrondiack Escape.
2) I'd take out Steamin' Demon (or move it to the back of the park) and replace it with another "signature" front-of-park rollercoaster. It really attracts attention just because it's cool to see a rollercoaster in action when you're just driving by on the road or highway!
3) I'd expand upon the "Jungle Land" and put a B&M inverted themed upon that.
4) I'd put in a REAL kiddie themed area like a Loony Tunes area similar to that of Worlds of Adventure. Just don't ask where it'd go!
5) A new wooden twister is definately needed. This can go themed with "Ghost Town".
6) Every park now has a shoot-the-chutes... this park can definately use one that's nicely themed aken to their Desperado Plunge (ie: anamatronics)
7) A few flat rides including a drop tower & new Huss rides, but that's soo cliche now!!!
8) New entrance plaza, bridge over Rt9, and of course... a bigger/improved parking lot... but that's the least any of us care about!!!
I just wish SOMETHING would be new this year. It seems kind of funny that they neglected this park for 2002 when they got the green light to go back in June of 2001!!
1. Place an Intamin Impluse next to Boomerang, with one twist tower, because of the cool brake stop on the back tower.
2. Relocate Steamin Demon to Jungle area and repaint it.
3. Add an Arrow 4D in Steamin Demon's area.
4. Add a giant Invertigo in a small land next to the giant wheel.
5. Add a CCI or Intamin woodie in a lot between Rapids and Jungle area.
6. Add triple S&S towers in small land front of Comet.
7. Build a new area named Superheroes DC in the land behind Comet, and add an Intamin hyper (Superman), and B&M flyer (Batman).
8. A lot of modern flat rides.
9. Enlarge the parking lot.
10. expand the water park.
11. Redo the entrance
12. Rename it to Six Flags Great Escape

What land next to Boomerang? Comet? Big Wheel? Raging River and Jungleland? Im not trying to judge but that is just repulsive.

And do you know how much money that would cost? Six flags doesnt even add that many rides to all of its parks total in a year
xfan i go there pretty much every summer, but it's not my home park. i like your thinking, but it's not possible basically spending that much money on one park for sf is pretty out there. i say reasonable additions would be:
year 1:new entrance, bridge over road, replace steamon demon with something that would attract eyes from the highway ex)intamin impulse, coaster w/many inversions like steamon demon
year 2:new superhero section with one or two coasters: one with inversions, one speed, s&s tower(s)
year 3 and on:add flat rides, wild mouse coaster, advertise more

Wishful thinking......I want a 4D and I think it is very possible that Great Escape could get one because it would draw a crowd.
