Keep the good stuff coming...you know we'll be there ;)

Yes, The structure will probably last many decades without any major repairs needed.
However, It seems to me the track is needing replaced or serious work much sooner than on wooden structured coasters. I blame this on the lack of flexibility built into the rides. Then again, It may just be the parks maintence practices that they are located in.

It's the most disoriented I've ever been on a ride - the only way I could tell I was upside down was when the blood rushed to my head. Very intense.
It has a small footprint but it's definitely not a family ride, if that's the demographic HW is targeting.
I perfer a full woodie instead of a half woodie myself, and am sure I'll spend more time on Swamp Fox this coming week than I will on Hurricane(assuming I don't get rained out by another hurricane...).
Quality over quantity. :-) Uh, did I mention the size of the woody doesn't matter? ;-)

Since Shivering Timbers cost $6 million back in 1998, I'm willing to bet that a larger version of the ride would cost more like $8 million in 2004 dollars.
Maybe it's my east-coast bias showing again? ;)
Can't be, I also LOVE those parks in Indiana, LOL...bringing it (sorta) back on topic...
Oh, and for that flat ride of indeterminate origin...the Rockin' Tug would fit in that admittedly *tight* spot. Not that I don't wanna see my KMG Afterburner though...;)
Funny that many CCI fans aren't big BD fans... I wonder why? Is it the fact that all of the airtime isn't very severe (as is ALL the airtime on coasters such as Cornball Express and Raven)? I guess an arguement can be made for BD having few extreme moments but that's one of the things I love about it- there are so many different kinds of air on that ride! To each his/her own, I suppose!
I do agree that the Lake is a beautiful park. It needs a small steel coaster and a few more flats (one or two classics like a Whip or Cuddle Up and one or two new ones like an Afterburner or Power Surge), then it would be practically perfect. A reborn Wildcat (Schmeck-style) wouldn't hurt either.
Im sure I didn't catch it on it's best day, However I visited MIA in 2001 and caught ST on a bad day and it still delivered major air on the outbound trip on every hill and a couple on the return. WHen I visited for Timbersfest in 2002 I couldn't believe that much airtime was possible and the helix was kicking arse
I think LC is the better park provided that they add a few things. But Im just happy it's open if you know what I mean.
Im not your normal coaster lover, Slam me, Shake me toss me and Im in heaven. Give me a ride that just cruises and Im Ho-Hum ride it cause it's there.
Your milage may very significantly and I aint whining cause BD beat ST in any poll, It's just my opinion. and as far as the AT poll went, I don't think Balder was on there anywhere, Was It?
With the roundhouse site I think Rob Ascough's hit it. A disk-O would fit great there.
But What I'd REALLY like to see at HW is an arcade, the one element of awesomeness they don't have.
(With DDR of course)
