What the...?

I had something happen on RCT last night that I have never seen before. Maybe some one else can shed some light on this.

Here's the background info.
-RCT1, Loopy Landscapes
-Free play, just building up a park for the heck of it.
-The coaster in question is a Suspended, two train operation (each train running 7 cars). It has been running flawless for a couple years.

I'm building another coaster, when suddenly the window pops up showing "Anaconda Has Crashed!" I immediately pause the game, assuming a station brakes failure. Scroll over to find coaster parts landing on land and water, with smoke coming from the land. This is at a extra wide turn at the base of a moderate first hill.

A roll back? Couldn't be, the train never slows to less then 22MPH on the whole course. Sure enough, the second train was in the station.

Did the train fly off the track? How could this be on a continuous circuit suspended? I look closely at the track, and near the accident there was a busted piece of track. What in the world? I've been playing this game since the debut and never seen this.

Has anyone else had this happen, or know why it happened?

Ahhh, this happened to me one time. I was going to create a turn, but later changed my mind. I connected a straight piece of track with the curved piece. The track is technically not connected, but RCT doesn't read it as such. Tested my coaster and it crashed. I am almost sure it's the same situation...if not...well...you have really bad guests ;)

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Antuan-
I've had what you described happen before. However, I had not done any construction on it for a couple years. As I mentioned, 'running flawless for two years."

Rctycoon2k-
No screenshots, sorry. Unfortunately, I didn't think about posting the issue here until after the fact.

Needless to say, when it happened I was completely dumbfounded. And still dumbfounded today! ;-)

I think that it is just something that happens. I have had it happen several times, both to coasters that I have custom built and the coasters that are pre-made. It always seems to happen to me just as I complete a new coaster, one that I spent an hour or two building. ;) I think that it's like a bad joke built into the game.

#1Park: Holiday World

You know, if you'd saved soon before this happened you might be able to actually watch it go down. I don't think the accidents are generally randomly occuring.. at keast, anytime I've gone back to a saved game after an accident the same accident happens again at the same time.

I don't think that's random. ;)

in rct2 i build coasters as high as i can like 400+ft then when i test it the game says error and turns off and it happens like every time, and sometimes it happens on like a 300ft coaster, this happen to anyone?
What track type are you using Medusa3289?

The giga coaster has an odd bug in it that causes error trappers to occur so I've stopped using it in custom scenarios myself.

yeah it was the giga coaster
I was having a strange thing happening to me in RCT2. I had a mini-coaster going well for quite a long while, when suddenly, on the upward helix a train on the bottom somehow ran into the train on the top. It is very hard to describe, but it was quite an odd thing to happen. It became more frequent, and I eventually removed the helix. Anybody have this happen? Am I just a moron? What's going on?

I have also had problems w/ roller coaster 1 the original...I was playing one of the pre-designed scenarios called Diamond Heights and some of those coasters in that park would crash but were perfectly operational after a couple of years then they would crash. But if you edit those coasters in the original and add a small set of brakes and run 1 train nothing will crash. The coaster was Claustaphobia and its twin would both crash...and i've had my share of problems like that....i have no clue what happends to these but...oh well....
I have had the tyrain moving 2 mph returning to the station to me a few times. I have no idea what causes it. But i think it is kinda cool.
lol, Yeah it is kind-of cool...as long as nothing crashes after spending hours or that it was you best coaster you ever built you know?
Yeah i've had coasters move 2 miles an hour, and i've seen it happen after two trains get stuck at the top of the lift hill when one is stopped at the block brake, and the other comes up behind it, still trying to climb the hill, but it can't because the other one is automatically stopped. I know its weird because a train shouldn't go until the next block brake is clear, i think that sometimes after a ride is fixed the train will automatically go after the mechanic fixes it. after it goes it then runs into the train thats stopped at the top of the hill, and when that one finally decides to go, the one behind, still trying to go up the hill, runs into, and pushes it it causing it to go very slowly and fer some reason it stays at this speed through out the ride.
bob did it

lol....thats kinda kewl or not if its a good park...lol
What could have happened that happened to me once or twice is that your breaks gave out and the mechanic did not make it there on time causing one coaster to crash into the other
yea something like that happened but there is a way to fix crashed coasters...i forgot how though
