What should go to PKD?

What ride or roller coaster could replace Diamond Falls or Shcokwave.
I think an Intamin River Plunge should replace Diamond Falls.

Nightride and I have decided that if PKD adds a Kiddie Coaster (ala Reptar), then they are fools.

Kings Dominion needs a high capacity ride, either B&M or Intamin. No more launch rides that have one good part and the rest if filler. We need something that is fulfilling. I'd love to see a B&M Floorless or Hypercoaster in the area. No more prototypes, just something that doesn't break down and can hold more than 16 people a train.

We could use more flats, but Hypersonic was the latest good coaster (Richochet is a credit and occasional ride). There was a rumor that PKD is going to get a Delirum and a Tomb Raider ride, which would be okay, but I still want a new coaster. There also was a rumor that 4 Paramount Parks is going to get B&Ms, which sounds good to me!

I think that rumor was just that:a rumor.

Paramount seems to be on a huss giant rides kick lately just as CF has been on an intamin building spree for the past few years, first it was TR:TR @PKI,followed by Delerium & let's not forget that PCW added Sledgehammer (huss jump2) this year,so I think it's safe eto say that we'll be seeing a huss giant ride @ PKD in 04 it'll be either a giant topspin or a delerium.

Of course they could add another coaster so I could be wrong, I also don't buy into the rumors of SW being removed at the end of the 03 season.

On this one, I totally agree with RCTfan. A nice full-length coaster with a lift. I was thinking for the 2004 season, (every season PKD usually gets 2 rides) that PKD should get a Huss Giant Frisbee, and a Floorless.
The Frisbee going into Diamond Fall's spot. And the floorless,(being a compact coaster) going into Shockwave's spot. (if the rumor is true)
If they're not going to run SW to capacity (and the last time I was there, they were only running one train -- NOT a way to get people to ride it) then they should remove it and install something that people will want to ride more than once. I remember the TOGO stand-ups as being very rough rides, especially if you were short enough that your head didn't clear the OTSR's. That wasn't a problem for me, but more than one girlfriend of mine had issues with the headbanging. As for what kind of ride(s) PKD installs, I personally have no overwhelming preference, but I would like to see something else with a lifthill. I must confess that I won't miss Diamond Falls -- I don;t usually ride water rides unless it is VERY hot. I'd rather get in two or three other rides in during the time that I would be waiting in line.

Same here,I wasn't a big fan of DF & I don't enjoy SW all that much either & hope it goes the way of KC ASAP.

I think we'll see something on the DF site in 04,be it a flat ride or coaster but I don't think SW is going anywhere next year.

I must confess that I would like to see what B&M could do with the site of DF. They do seem to have a knack for packing a lot ofr ride into a compact site.

It goes against my ethics, but I would love to see a compact B&M. Like a flyer would be great. It would take alot of the riders away from the low capacity rides like HSXLC and Volcano. but I DON'T want an other B&M hyper. I want an intense coaster, and it would be great of they could do it where SW is or DF, but the sites are pretty small.

I am not going back to Cedar Point until they throw Mean Streak's brakes into lake Erie. There should be a law against killing coasters like Cedar Fair does.

i hope we dont get a compact B&M....i was NOT impressed with B:DK at SFNE at all....i swear, i wanna see an Intamin hyper so bad...but we will never get one, garauntee it. as far as Shockwave...its a sentimental favourite, so id hate to see it go (my first upside down coaster actually, June 1988:))...and at Diamond Falls...i could totally see a Delerium there, if PKIs performs well...

Please God no not a flyer! The idea is to install a ride that has a high capacity. Flyers at this point haven't yet got the capacity issue resolved. (or have they? let me know if I'm wrong) I could live with a floorless, though. Also, I live in MD and would like (for entirely selfish reasons) for PKD to install a coaster different from what I can get to in a reasonable day's drive.

pkd DESPERATELY needs a nice, long B&M and/or hyper coaster. their tallest coaster is Hypersonic at, what, a measly 165 feet or so? that's ridiculous for a park with 9 coasters. also, too many of them are really short. i've been going there 3 times a season for 15 years.

i know and appreciate that shockwave was togo's first american coaster, and the firts standup on the east coast or whatever, but rides have come a looong way since 1985 and unfortunately shockwave's time has passed. the space is really wasted right now.

diamond falls ... that thing was mediocre when new, and the theming with that cheesy mine afterwards was just embarassingly bad and in severe disrepair. i wont miss that.

but back to the subject at hand -- yeah, a nice long hyper is what the pack is desperately lacking. and if it were a floorless B&M, even better =)\

Hyper! Hyper! Hyper!

What's stopping them from getting a hyper anyhow?

They've already got 12 coasters, not nine & a hyper is something they really could use but if they get a floorless either on the DF site or the SW site you won't be hearing any complaints from me.

I'll be too busy planning a trip down there to ride it instead of complaining about it.

Keep in mind that Hypersonic, at its 'measley' 165 feet, is the second-tallest coaster in the entire Paramount chain.

Have you ridden a Toboggan?

Wow, I didnt realize XLC was the tallest coaster at PKD. How tall is Volcano? Does it reach 100 ft.?
I think Volcano is at about 150 ft. But I think PKD should really think about gettinga B&M Hyper or Floorless. But I know they can't put much in the small spots of SW and DF. EVEN if the Shockwave rumor is true, I think seriously that PKD will NOT get a hyper, but maybe a floorless. A floorless would be a real nice addition to the park. Speaking of PKD, at the coasterbuzz Games site, I recently upload the Hurler at PKD.
