What roller coaster just doesnt belong?

Dexter,

I have to agree with the others. Cedar Point has always excelled at improving upon technology and taking ideas a step furthur. However their ride additions are not firsts, or one of a kinds.

MForce was do-able due to the success Intamin had with their Superman hyper insallation. CP and Intamin improved upon the idea with the cable lift system.

Magnum, although it was the first to be labelled "hyper", was a proven coaster design by Arrow. Magnum was designed on the same principle as the mine train rides.

As others mentioned, the Cedar Creek Mine Ride was not one of the first steel coasters and not the first Mine Train Coaster. Others mentioned the first, at SFOT but another significant steel coaster that had been in operation for years was Matterhorn at Disneyland.

Gemini is an enlarged Mine Train coaster, again proven technology by Arrow.

Disaster Transport operated for a few years before it was enclosed. So it's technology had been proven prior to the ride re-hash. Also, I am not positive, but Opryland's enclosed bobsled may have rivalled DT as far as being the first enclosed.

Raptor, again was proven technology, just improved upon. The addition of the cobra roll was a natural in that B&M had already done one successfully on Kumba at BGT.

Chaos at CP was not the one of the first flat rides of it's kind. Actually, I would have to double check, but I think SFKK had theirs prior to CP obtaining theirs. I know that SFKK was nto the first to operate a Chaos.

Corkscrews were cropping up prior to CP'd Arrow just added a vertical loop. Agin just improving their proven technology.

So I don't think their statement is ridiculous at all. Again, CP is a great park and often plays it very smart by waiting for advancements in technology before they invest in a new type of attraction. That way they are guaranteed a hit.

Okay, I'll take back some of the wording of my last remark, HOWEVER, Cedar Point has been innovative and fresh when it comes to new attractions. I worked there and have a kind of pride for Cedar Point (you know, like a teary eyed sigh when I think about it). I get slightly offended when people slam them and exagerate negitivities. They do play it smart by waiting to see if new technologies work before they buy in to them, but when they build a new ride it has some kind of "first" ot it.

.

Replying to the REAL topic now:

Amusement Parks have roller coasters. I thought that was common knoledge. All coasters at all parks seem to fit to me. I can't really remember a park that has a coaster that they shouldn't. I'm happy with all coasters wherever they are.

Opinions differ and that's what is so cool about coasterbuzz. PEACE!

Dexter, your comments are right on. I still have no idea why ravenguy98 said that.

Well then, according to your original statement, WT does fit since it is breaking height records for an invert I believe.

Technically Oddessy at Fantasy Island holds that record.
