What makes Kennywood so good?

I have heard so much about this park and going there in a week. What makes it so great? Does anyone not like this park?
It's a small park with some historic coasters, as well as, some great modern rides such as Phantom's Revenge, Aero 360, Pittfall and Exterminator. Food and parking prices are reasonable, and the employees are nice. The park is also a historic landmark. I believe you'll have a good time.

Kennywood's charme is hard to describe, you just have to go there
I think that Rick Sebak summed it up best in his kennywood documenty.
"Kennywood has been a place for picnics, for music, for all sorts of rides, and especially for several of the world's best coasters............. If you've ever been there, you know the best things you take with you when you parents force you to leave at the end of the night are memories"

I dance like a special ed. kid that was given a sparkler.
It's got a great old time feel. The old rides make it work - like the Whip, Racer, Turtle, and Jack Rabbit - even the Old Mill. A great thing to do is just watch the little kids on the Kangaroo; that'll put a smile on anyone's face! Noah's Ark is really worth checking out, too - you won't find one of these things at a Six Flags.

Oh yeah - there's this big green and black thing next to Lost Kennywood that's not too shabby, either.;)

So many coasters - so little time.
Kennywood has something for everyone. They have rides for families and great coasters( like Phantom's Revenge) for us the thrillseekers. Kennywood also has a variety of thrillrides like Pitfall. I think that's why Kennywood is so great besides them keeping some historical attractions.
While it's an outstanding park, and there's very few places I'd rather spend a day, don't let the hype get to you. If you're expecing Shangri-La, you'll be setting yourself up for a let down.

Just go in and soak up the atmosphere. There's nothing quite like walking through that tunnel and heading from one world to another. With the Old Mill and Turnpike ahead and to your right, and the Fudge Shoppe sitting right in front of you, you know you're in for a great day. The classic wooden coasters are incredible, even if they're not the most thrilling rides on Earth. The flat rides are numerous and diverse, ranging from the old Turtle tumble bug ride to the standard Pirate to the modern-day Aero 360. The dark rides are really something you won't find at a whole lot of parks. The Old Mill and Gold Rusher can give you a good little "laff-in-the-dark," and Noah's Ark and the Exterminator might give you a little scare.

Add all that to great food, games all of the place, beautiful gardens, an occasional strolling band, all the historic attractions and everything else in the park, you're in for one of the best amusement park experiences available today.

And as Chaindog noted, I hear Phantom's Revenge is pretty special in itself. ;)

Enjoy!

I'm going on my first coaster trip in a coupla weeks. I'll be checking out Indiana Beach, CP, and the Kennywood. I've wanted to do this for 18 years now! I'm numb with excitement!

Yeeee Haaawwww!
Kennywood provides a good mix of old and new. It has two classic John A. Miller coasters, along with more modern rides such as Arrow 360 and Phantom's Revenge. Kennywood is not a real flashy park, but it does not have to be. It is a simple park, and if you go on a weekday, you find that it is not usually crowded. I find that employees are always nice and willing to make a joke occasionally. Last but not least, the food is reasonably priced and is very good (Potato Patch Fries Yum!) I hope you enjoy your visit to Kennywood.
