What Language...

I never said I have Israeli roots. I mean, I have family there and cousins who are obsessed with it, but you know...and what does that have to do with changing my SN? I'm lost!

...the thought came from the post you made in response to Tomer L....just thought that Seder-Point would be a cool "misspelling"....don't be lost, I just absolutely LOVE word-play....

German for rollercoaster is "Achterbahn", which literally translates to "figure 8 railway", or "railway describing figure 8 shapes".

Thanx for clearing that up Rollergator. Let's just say I'm Jewish, so I guess I do have roots tracing to Israel.

...no sweat, SP...it's always a little strange for "us gentiles" with the whole Jewish thing, being that it can mean either religion OR heritage...so, the phraseology can become a little *stilted*...besides, how MANY gentiles would really *get* the joke anyway...

the longer ya hang out here, the more you begin to realize that I'm really just insane, "but in a good way"....;)

I'd say you're insane. If you can just sum up all that again in real English I'll reconsider.

I speak Enlish and can talk like Apu from The Simpsons? I know a little French and Spanish aswell.

I have a page on my website where I having been trying to find what the word rollercoaster is in various languages. I have most listed here already but if anyone knows one not listed then that would be great. E-mail me if you do.The page address is http://www.wilkes2536.freeserve.co.uk/language.htm

I don't know Rob....I *did* get SP to admit it! It took some work, LOL, but getting someone to say it...."you're insane".....always brings a smile to my face.....DO say Hi to Jack for me when you see him....;)

Now, as to WHY I'd even *want* to say something to make him *reconsider*, c'mon, not gonna happen...:)

BTW, never even been to Canada...what kind of Jersey kid has NEVER gone to Canada. Can't wait for August....I hope you *will* be showing for SRM (voluntarily, that is), otherwise I'll have to send 'Moosh up there and STUFF you in his luggage!

Go to Google.com and you can use the language tools and translate from many different languages. It is usually literal for roller coaster. ie. they don't translate to Russian Mountain for certain languages.

Again, the strangeness gets lost on the young'uns...;) Bill, SRM is not a forgone conclusion, but a most assured attempt shall be made to get my arse to the southwestern part of Indiana, in say, late May? It all depends on the kids, school, my parents willingness to watch them for a few days, and my wife's general attitude!! It does sound tasty as heck, plus I need to get to IB and ride Cornball... the cereal of champions. Plus, I really need to "understand" LoCoSuMo. According to Rollocoast, I just need to witness the carnage, and that's enough, but Robbie needs a lobotomy soon, so the lovely LoCoSuMo will gladly provide.:)

Still hijacking threads.... Thank God for the internet.

right again Rob...;)..I mean, ALL *6* of my brothers and sisters have been, but I was the youngest and have yet to make it to The Great White North. Besides, IF you wanted to question the logic of my rationale, which is ENTIRELY acceptable, btw, I'd say "never been to Canada, eh?" *So* is just SO....American.....eh....;)

"Now pass me a Labatt's so I can read the other threads, you hoser"....:)

German's my first language, but I obviously speak a lot more English than German, so it's slowly slipping away. I also speak French fluently, Spanish (not so fluently), and I took enough Italian to understand most musical markings. I also speak Brooklyn and Deep South (father and mother, respectively).

SeederPoint, yes, I'm an israeli.

Both Superland and Luna Park aren't very big, and you can easily do all of the rides in a couple of hours, so I don't go to the parks very often, only once every couple of monthes.

No kids? C'mon who am I gonna ride with?

Yes, you *do* need to get to IB. Speaking of that, so do I.

What? Am I the only person here who has a bit of Ebonics? (not bad for an old white gal, but I'm from the Detroit area...you pick it up).

I was fluent in spanish when I graduated from high school (before most of you were born), but lost a good portion of it for lack of use. Sad, isn't it?

Also, my husbands mom was german, so I did learn to understand a bit of it, even if I can't speak it.

Chris, they will be in school at the time, so IF we come to SRM, they won't be tagging along.... we might go to Japan this summer, though, so they could go with us on that trip. They might be in Virginia (visiting mother) though:( Either way, I will try my best to make the trip this year.
