what is your fav memory of the 2001 season?

so far it seems like forever since any of  the parks have been open.  I just can't wait to feel the thrill of taking of on superman ultimate escape or that first drop on millenium force but let me tell you there is nothing to do in the off season. so what are your favorite memories from the 2001 season. mines got to be glitter on superman. Me and my friend Julie had huge bottles of glitter and sprinkled it out while the ride was going on superman ultimate escape Sfwoa.  it was so pretty to see the glitter everywhere but later they made us clean it up
Probably the breathtaking drop on American Eagle during the sunset at Six Flags Great America.:)

The Jokes on You!! Ha Ha Ha
I have two favorites from the 2001 season, they are both painful experiences but I always get a good laugh when I think of them. First when I was on Viper at SFGAm this season right when we started our decent down the first hill I got a huge bug in my eye, I didnt know it was a bug at first so i tried taking it out and relized I had to wait untill the ride was over because I kept poking it in more with all the bumps. So I held My hand over my eye and tehn it would start biting me and I would start screaming and my sister would be like are you ok and it would stop and I would say yeah and that kept happening. So we get back to the station and I fling out a huge green and yellow bug. My eye was a little red for the rest of the day but I was fine. The other one was when I went to SFGAm after I had pullen tendons in my heels and I could barely walk, I went to the docter the day before he told me that I shouldnt go but if I do get a wheel chair. So I was going to get a wheel chair but when I got home I found out you needed a docters note so Im jsut like oh well. So I spend 12 hours at the park walking around my friends were always about 20 to 30 feet ahead of me becasue I was jsut wobbline around, and everytime I would go on a roller coaster it would kill me when the Gs would get high. I practly died on Iron Wolf and Batman I was screaming in pain for so long. This was the first day I actually sat out on going on a few rides because I couldnt take it. But it was only 2 times on Shockwave that I sat out druning those times when you dont ahve to get off I did about 7 rides and said I cant take anymore. Im usually the last one on but today I had an excuse.
1. Riding the famous Raven and Legend at my first visit to Holiday World's SRM!!.

3. Rode 4 CCI's; Villian, Legend, Raven, and Twisted Sisters.

4. My first PKI media day and riding Runaway Reptar 15 times.

Finally going to CP for the first time ever. (Long drive from south Jersey) I then proceeded to MF and waited for 1 1/2 hours for a front seat.  That ride alone was worth the drive and the wait!  I can't leave out my home park though.  Nitro is awesome as well.
2001 had too many memories to list. :)

My other car is a Giovanola!

Riding Millenium Force for the first time front seat.  I feel as if I finally got to ride the perfect coaster.

In no order:

1. Bringing new friends to their first SRM and seeing the expression on their faces after their first night ride.

2. The Boulderdash ERT at Preservation Con...so good it was almost orgasmic!

3. Watching Rye's bumper cars while waiting in line and laughing so hard at the little kids getting beaned we were almost peeing!

4. Riding Rye's bumper cars and watching Dave Fraser slam into this little kid, sending the kid back about 20 feet, and then experiencing instant karma as Dave's $150 sunglasses fell to the floor and were run over by every bumper car and smashed to pieces.

5. Sitting with Mike "Bassistist" Miller on his first ride on Knoebel's Haunted House and seeing his reactions.

6. Every single ride on Knoebel's bumber cars.

7. Riding with "non-enthusiast" Carrie Drabek on her 50th coaster, HSTC!

8. Telling Mike Overell I wouldn't squish him on the turns on CI Cyclone and then doing it anyway ;-)

9. Riding SFWoA's Big Dipper w/ Jim McDonnell, slamming into him on a surprise lateral, and laughing all the way back to the station.

10. Participating in a "A-List" joke w/ ACE PR Rep Dave Escalante during the speakers presentations at Winter Solace.

11. Getting drenched on Dorney's rapids ride on a cold, 48* day.

12.  My first front and back seat rides on X...WOW!

13. While sitting in the front seat of DP's Thunderhawk, Jim McDonnell warned me to "watch my legs" and I asked "Why?"  Cresting each hill I found out why!  Major ejector air right into the buzz bar ;-)

14. Finding myself on CI Cyclone one day after my car was stolen and feeling all my problems disappear, even if only briefly.

15.  SCBB's Giant Dipper in almost ERT-like conditions late on a Saturday night w/ the fog rolling in and trains flying!

16. Being totally blown away by Legoland and Bonfante Gardens...the two biggest surprises of 2001 for me.

17. An enthusiast take-over of the kiddie whip at Knotts during Solace.

18. The horror of seeing what our PPP costumes *really* looked like [the ten of us were SUPPOSED to be ghosts, but we looked like a KKK rally...YIKES!]

19. Choking on a bite of a hamburger, coughing, and spitting the half-chewed chunk across the table at Jim's vegetarian-friend Melissa, whom I had JUST MET!  Thankfully I recovered from that first impression ;-)

And I'll cheat here and talk about 2002:

20. Taking my Dad and cousin to their very first SRM!

I'm going to say Son Of Beast at Paramounts Kings Island riding the only looping wooden coaster and tallest in the world.

Idle hands were orient to her.

Extreme Cow!  my friends and I were waiting in line for Batman at SFGA and one person saw a guy wearing a Hardy Boyz shirt (tag team wrestlers) and he was carying a giant stuffed cow.  since the Hardys are know as Team Extreme, he coined the phrase Extreme Cow.  it was so funny that we'd shout it out all throughout the rides the rest of the day and the rest of the summer.

joining in with the whole line of people waiting for Deja Vu the second to last operating day when it broke down at night.  we were all screaming at the ride ops, God that was fun.

I don't know that it is my favorite, but it is very significant.....

In June after Coaster Con in PA, I travelled through NJ and NYC for the first time to attend Lake Compounce and SFNE.

Seeing NYC in person for the first time on that trip was quite significant because I could not get over the sheer enormity of the WTC towers and how they dwarfed the Statue of Liberty which was waaaaaaay smaller than I ever dreamed.

Ironically 3 months later the WTC Towers were gone.  I was lucky enough to see them. I owe it all to a coaster trip.
