What is the landmark of your homepark?

Is it just me or did this thread go from landmarks of your respective parks to signature rides. They are completely different in my opinion. There are very few rides that I would consider the best in the park and also the landmark for the park. Also I don't think any ride built within the last 5-10 years can even be considered. For example, MF might be the signature ride of CP but that isn't the landmark for the park yet. I know you can see it from far away but its just too new. Landmark tends to make one think of nostaligia, what has been there for a while that makes almost anyone who's been there think of that park. For example, the Eiffel Tower at PKI, Collosus and Screamin' Eagle at SFStL, Cinderella's Castle at MK, Spaceship Earth at Epcot, and to me the entire coaster skyline at CP is its landmark because it is America's Roller Coast after all.
For me it has to be the Ferris Wheel next to the Space Spiral on the beach at Cedar Point. It's cool that they relocated the Giant wheel over there. It reminds me of the old CP logo of the 70's where they had a drawing of both of the rides together with the CP train along the bottom. If you look at some of the old trash cans there you may still find some with the old logo.
Hard one to narrow down for Hersheypark.

Up until a few years ago I would have said Carrousel Circle, The Kissing Tower (you can see it for miles around), or Comet.

However, with the addition of Midway America, Wildcat, the Ferris Wheel, and Lightning Racer would be right up there since they are the major things you see when travelling on Hersheypark Drive.

I promise I won't go off on a rant about those @#$%^&*! Toboggan's again.
Ok for me at CP it would have to be the main midway. I feel this way due to the fact that the rides come and go while the midway may change some it is always there. Come on you walk into CP you go down the midway gardens in the center and the skyride above you.

At SFWOA it would too have to be when you first walk in there is the water fountains with an impressive view of Americana (ferris wheel)
i would say cedar point would definently be the corkscrews on corkscrew that you walk under on the midway.
At Valleyfair, it has to be the High Roller. You can almost see it from any area in the park, and it occupies the north side all by itself. It also is the oldest ride there, and it is the foundation of the park.
At SFGAm the landmark is either the Merry-go-Round at the entrance or American Eagle. I think AE is the land mark because you're driving down the highway when all of a sudden you see a big white structure and while you drive by it keeps catching your eye.
SFA-s:ros or Batwing being erected or roar or the tower of doom er... i dont know
Well, for SF Magic Mountain:

before entering park: Viper. Whenever I see Viper towering over the bus parking lot, I know that I'm visiting SFMM.

after entering the park: Superman the Escape. You can see this ride from practically all parts of the park. Walkin under it and staring up is kool.
And if there's a landmark sound for a park, it would be the thunderous roar of the Superman cars as they race across the track.
I think that Knott's true landmark is the pericute drop. The pericute drop was always one of my favorites. I can't belive they took it out to build stupid Wind jammer. What a waste.
The Interlocking loops on The Lochness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg....

"...what do you think about Space Spiral."

I have always associated the Space Spiral with being Cedar Point's landmark ever since my first visit when I was 4 (and that was 26 years ago!)

For Kennywood, I always thought of Noah's Ark and the Carousel. Not to mention the yellow Kennywood arrows dotting the Pittsburgh region that point you in the right direction!
Things that I thought...
DL: Matterhorn & Space mountain
MK: Cinderella's Castle & Space Mountain
SFGAm: Columbia Caroseul and reflecting pool
PKI & PKD: Effiel Tower
SFStL: Colossus (Ferris Wheel)
SFMM: Colossus (rollercoaster) and S:TE
that's just off the top of my head

Now that i think about it, CP doesnt really have a landmark. To me, everything there in a way is the landmark. Just looking at the peninsula on a road map tells me, thats CP.

They dont have buildings like Cinderella's Castle at Disney World/Land. And they dont have a imitation like the eiffel tower at PKI/PKD. I know the space spiral is a viewing tower just like eiffel tower (except for being able to stand up there as long as you want) but its nothing spectacular to look at.

I agree with incidentalist on this thread going to signature rides. Its just that, CP doesnt really have a building that stands out from all the others (fascinations did, but its gone). The only building that you might be able to see is DT, but probably not (last time i went i was aw struck by MF and couldnt stop staring at it even though i had already been there twice earlier that year). So i dont know if there is a landmark or not, just signature rides.
