It's a Wild Mouse-style roller coaster inside a building filled with dark-ride type theming.
Oh, to make things a little more exciting, the cars are a bit like Tilt-A-Whirl tubs.

It is an awsome coaster,I personaly liked it better than the Phantom(because phantom was too bumpy),but I realy didnt notice the theming, I only saw the theming in the que line!I guess we were going to fast,I probaly would have noticed the theming if I rode it again,but i'm an Ohioan so I only went once,on hot 101.1 day!
I'll tell you what... First time I rode Exterminator, my group decided to "forget" to tell me about the spinning cars. I can't tell you how caught off-guard I was when that happened.
And you know, the highlight of that ride, to me, is flying down from the hairpins into the "boiler room." That's great.
The most hilarious roller coaster that I have EVER ridden. You laugh the entire ride. Great hairpins, theming and surprising drops, not to mention the spinning cars.

Couldn't agree more. Everyone we rode with was laughing and giggling the whole time, and the people coming off the ride all had smiles on their faces. My wife and I had a great time at Kennywood, but I think Exterminator is the thing we talk about most when we talk about that day.

Only Kennywood can take an 'off the shelf' ride, and create something that has a wait of 1 hour. Rain or shine, it packs a sure thrill.
For me, that's the single best perk about Phantom's Revenge... Hopefully Exterminator's line will finally shrink, at least a bit!

The quotes are actually both true about the Exterminator.

When I made the trip to kennywood, i considered skipping the exterminator, but after i rode it i was very wrong. It was suprisingly exciting, its full of hairpin curves and out of control spinning, I rode it 3 more times!
