What is seat 1-3?

I often hear people talk about seat 1-3 as the ejector seat, and I was wondering which seat that is?
Sorry if this seems silly, but I'm never positive which particular seat someone is talking about when they refer to them by number.

Thanks!

I rode in seat 1-3 before and I didnt get ejector. Actually I didnt get olot of air-time either. And this is on Big Dipper. And 1-3 is a wooden coaster that has three rows in a car. Like 1-1 would be front seat. 1-2 would be second seat. aand 1-3 would be the third. But dont worry about it. I dont think it works. lol

Seat 1.3 is often referred to as the "Herb Schmeck seat" because it is said to provide the most airtime of Schmeck's coasters such as the Phoenix, Great Escape Comet, and Thunderhawk.
It is the first car, third row. Magnum has it an it'ssweet.
1-3 =
Car 1
Row 3

5-1 =
Car 5
Row 1

and so on

I experienced Magnum's "ejector air" last week.. much different experience than in any of the other seats, I was literally almost standing up.. it was great

The ejector seat varies from coaster to coaster.

OK, thanks.

I wasn't sure if the second number referred to an entire row, or a particular seat in the car.

Which seat has the most air varies from coaster to coaster, though it is usually near the front or rear of the train. It is often the last row in the car because your backside is more directly over an axle in the last row.

You've probably heard of 1-3 because it is the seat with the most air on a number of coasters. Most famously this is true for 1-3 for the incredible air time of Phoenix at Knobels. On Phoenix it really is an ejector seat. You stand up involuntarily and feel like you are about to be thrown from the car. The second best seat for air on Phoenix is 1-1 near the other axle in the front car.
I rode it on viper at SFGAM and didn't feel like it did anything special as far as air -- in fact, I didn't get much air at all until the last hill.
I sat in seat 2-1 on Magnum. I really got jerked out of my seat on those rabbit hops. I even got bruises on my thighs.
I had the opposite experience of Bull fan. Seat 1-3 SFGAm's Viper I find to be awesome. I went on it there, then an hour later in the last row. Last row still provided great air time, but my grandma and I both agreed 1-3 was a better ride hands down (or up, in my case.)
