What is Intamin's Aqua Trax?

I've been hearing a lot about a new style of Intamin coaster called the Aqua Trax... this new type of coaster is being built at Heide Park for 2004, and supposedly one of the new concepts that SDC polled guests about a few weeks ago is a variation of this ride. My question is... what is it?

A layout of the Heide Park ride can be found here.

I think it's essentially a water coaster, but with more coaster track. I could be wrong though.

Whenever you can ride a roller coaster and experience 15 spots of intense airtime, you know you're on a good coaster. (see: Phoenix)

The first Wave runner/Aqua Trax is currently under construction at Lotte World in Korea

http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1646.htm

It is a LIM launched coaster with single cars, jetski-like seating and simulated water splashes that resemble a skipping stone on water. (You can see certain blue spots underneath the track in the layout, where the ride will "Skip the water")

Sadly, the ride in Germany will probably not open before the 2005 season. All the rumours and fans stealing blueprints (the one screamscape posted) were all out before the park made an official announcement.

Work has already begun in the inside area of Colossos, but its still not officially announced.

It should be an interesting family ride with some thrill.

The 2005 season? Holy crap!

It sounds like an interesting concept... does anyone know if this was one of the concepts that SDC put forth this summer?

But since its an Intamin prototype, lets just be optomistic and shoot for 2007. :)

That's being a little too optimistic, wouldn't you say?

Yes, this was one of the options that they could add in 2005 at SDC.

Is it going to be themed like Hershey's roller soaker with water jets for people walking by?

Go Broncos!

In 2005? I thought that SDC was surveying people for their 2004 season addition? Ooops.

Then again, it would be an Intamin, so it wouldn't really matter, would it?

There were two surveys for the 2004 season, one for SDC & one for CC. There is only one for SDC for the 2005 season. The latest one is located here:
