What is FUN?

okay.. I have read two threads in a row where people have claimed to know people who are a part of FUN, or associated with FUN.

Is fun an orgainzation of some kind?

Is this a really stupid question I should already know that answer too?

if you saw that episode of Spongebob Square- Pants where he sings a song about FUN, youd know;) i dunno...
FUN is Cedar Fair's stock symbol, maybe that's what they were talking about.
I saw that song a Uinversal last week. The evil version is funny.......The only fun I know of is the stock symbol for Cedar Fair.

Wasn't there a TV show called Fun! or something?

I wish Fun will put something at WOF. Fun is CF LP's stock symbol. Our moeny doesn't stay local we paid for MF and WT and all we get is a Top Spin and a Boomerang. Well The Top Spin is a pretty good ride with the water effect. I like it.

You paid for MF and Wicked Twister? Boy you have some deep pockets. Cedar Fair (FUN) operates on a capital program where each park is responsible for it's own capital. The money stays very local. Now, when it comes to operating, Cedar Point and KBF make sure parks like WOF and ValleyFair open each season.

Uhh, not true at all. WOF is the only CF amusement park that doesn't draw at least a million visitors a year. Nobody's raiding it to pay for anything.

That doesn't mean it doesn't draw a profit (because it does and CF says so) but it makes it tough to justify the kind of expenditures made at its sister park a little farther up Highway 35 (a full-size PT and an inverted coaster in '03).

At least we're only 6 hours away. Come on up and give it a ride next summer...

And Fun is something you have at amusement parks. Too many "enthusiasts" try to take that away.

I think that the Stock symbol explanation sounds about right to me..

Thanks

Have you seen any evidence of a new coaster at VF? The reason why WOF is not getting a million visitors is becasue they're losing out to competition (SDC and SFStL) already. SDC is the strongest of the 2 and I can almost say they have the power to kill WOF. This is why we need a few good new coasters like an inverted and a smaller coaster like a mine train (no Mamba is too big of a mine train) or a Wild Mouse.

Mamba too big of a mine train...LOL. Yes, build it and they will come. Now that this new park is opening in Iowa (yay for me), WOF is really going to take a beating if they don't start competing.

Just 15 miles from 2 CCI's.
Approx. 200 coasters ridden -- #1 Shivering Timbers
Yes, FUN is Cedar Fair's stock symbol. End of story.
What new park in Iowa? Do you mean the park that the company from Iowa (Papa's Park) is building in Nebraska?

Yup....so far, it's the two painted 'X' marks in the parking lot (labeled B 02 01 and 02 in red spray paint), the stacks of pylons in the parking lot from where they blocked off an area to perform the survey and the hole that apparently was a core sample of sorts (some witnesses say they were drilling a hole in the ground).

Then of course, there's the changes to the VF web site in preparation, too...the scrolling ticker that wasn't there a few weeks ago, the specific timeframe added for media alerts, etc.

It should all be public in a couple to three weeks, anyway. They'll start moving earth right after Labor Day, for sure.
