What is Fright Fest at SFGAm like?

Ok, I live in Lansing and I have Season Passes to SFWoA, SFGAm and PKI. This summer I went to SFWoA and PKI(twice). It's approximately a five hour drive for to to any of these parks. I leaning towards SFGAm's Fright Fest over PKI and SFWoA. Were talking two overnights and a full weekend commitment here. Therefore, I would like to know if anyone has been to SFGAm's Fright fest, and if so, what was it like?
Well, Fright Fest is really cool in my opinion. I like the whole halloween theme and the park does a great job transforming the park into a "spook land"

The crowds can be bad at Fright Fest since it is only open on weekends. But your chance is better for Deja Vu to be open.

I think it's a very cool experience, since there are 2 different haunted house, there might be more, but I'm not sure. Monster's walk around all day, and if there is a water ride in sight, it's "blood" instead of water. I say you check it out, it's pretty cool.
I've been going to SFGAm's frightfest for 2 years and I like it alot. I haven't been to any other parks during frightfest, but I think Great America's is good. It's true the lines will be long though. I've been in both haunted houses and they're good and the park is decorated well. Anyways, I think you should go to SFGAm's frightfest, but just keep in mind the long lines.
Also dont expect shorter lines if the weather is cold and rainy. People come out to this event no matter what. I think alot to do with it is because Taco Bell usually has 2 for 1 coupons for Frightfest every year. A great atmosphere but "ALWAYS" crowded.

Chitowns 6 year old daughter says "Daddy, Dippin Dots are nasty!!" I must say that I agree!!
Fright Fest is amazing, but make sure that you get there early, or you may not be admitted- It's packed!
its so much fun. the big reflecting pool is died red and has burning torches and coffins surrounding it. the water rides have blood colored water and some of the rides like iron wolf are renamed to iron werewolf and blood river. they also put a giant spider on the american eagle. its a lot of fun but its always crowded. theres a link with pictures of it. also there are 2 haunted houses if you wanna pay the extra money, the acropolis and the mausoleum of terror.

just scroll down to six flags great america and then once you click on that, scroll down to the fright fest pictures.

It's really crowded - If the weather is decent the place will be packed. The crowds are more intense during Fright Fest than in the summer.

Fright Fest is awesome! I would recommend it to anyone. You'll notice that the park is a little different when you walk through the main gates. Roaring Rapids has red water which is pretty cool. There are goblins, ect. walking around trying to scare you and the haunted houses are a blast.
It won't be as hot during October, and Fright Fest can get really crowded. I think it would be worth the trip.

The only think that is a major bummer is that the Trolls won't have a bridge anymore. The blocked the Illinois Trollway. I remember when the trolls were free to roam and scare people as they felt. But one year, a troll pick up a girl over it's shoulder and ran away. The girl was really upset and the trolls were then told to turn it down a bit.

The trolls were always a highlight to Fright Fest.

Maybe they will have the trolls move to the Yukon/County Bridge or the Orleans/Yankee Bridge.

Hey BM.. The first year i went to Fright Fest At Great America 2 of the male trolls had one of the female trolls upside down by her ankles hanging her off their bridge and she was screaming "put me down!! put me down!!" I was laughing so hard because it was so funny and they were all talking in their troll voices but she wasn't..lol.

I love the American Eagle at SFGRAM!!!!
You are best off going on a Friday night, IMO. Last two times I went, all major coasters except Raging Bull, were walk ons. Great time, cool weather, neat atmosphere.
crowded. unless you go on a cold friday night.

DO NOT COUNT ON DEJA VU TO BE OPEN...... IT PROB. WILL NOT OPEN THIS YEAR AT GREAT AMERICA NOR MAGIC MOUNTAIN. SfOg might have their's up by October but, I really doubt great america will open their Deja Vu this year. Anyways, If you want to ride a thing like Deja Vu just go to PKI. They have "Face Off". Deja Vu is a rip off of Face Off anyways. With the exception you are vertigo. (90 degrees) In my oppioun Great America's Fright Fest is not that great. They do have some decorations but, I'm sure PKI goes all out. I would go to PKI. PKI is a great place.
Fright Fest@SFGAm is awesome. I try to make it to Fright Fest twice, because it really is cool. The whole "vibe" is just awesome. Sure the lines are long, but i wouldnt miss this for the world.

Sounds like you haven't been to PKI during Halloween. I myself have not been there either just give SFGAM credit. The original Six Flags Fright Fest was SFGAM. A bit of history for ya.

Fright Fest is a great event and really fun, but the lines are usually really long for all the rides. The Haunted Houses they usually have there are pretty cool too.
