For all of you "locals" that live in the area, or just long-time visitors of Cedar Point...
In all honesty:
How much time do you need at Cedar Point to truly experience what 'The Point' has to offer?
* Can you do it all in a full day?
* Do you need two full days to do all of The Point's rides & attractions?
or:
* Are three days needed? -Two for the park, and one for Soak City & Challenge Park.
(A little more far fetched... but four days? Two for the park, one for Soak City, and one for Challenge Park & the beach?)
Two days are definitely recommended for the FULL experience of the point. That should be enough.

I would suggest two full weekdays. That will allow you to easily hit all of the major coasters, some flats, and get re-rides on the biggies too such as MF, Magnum, Raptor, and Mantis. Also, don't wait in an hour line at mid-day for Mantis. Often times, at night, during the laser show, the ride is a near walk-on. Raptor and MF will usually be your longest waits. I suggest running to MF as soon as the park opens and then getting in line right before closing. That allows you two rides without taking a major chunk out of your day to wait in line. As long as you are in line by closing, Cedar Point will finish out the line and allow everyone to ride. I guess the only time they wouldn't do this is if the ride goes down and isn't a quick fix.

Atleast 2 days. If you want to hit Soak City & Challenge Park you could do two and a half days. Soak City & Challenge Park doesn't even take a whole day if you do them together.

I would say two days is good. It's good to not rush the experience.

People think Iam crazy when I talk about roller coasters, maybe they are the crazy ones.
I can't stand to go to Soak City because I always get mad seeing Magnum and the other coasters going and I want to go back inside CP!!!!:)

We are the keepers of the sacred words, Ni!, Peng!, and Nuuuuuwwwom!
I hit all the coasters at CP in one day except for Wildcat which I opted not to ride that time, so I went on Mean Streak twice. I could have rode wildcat. I excluded woodstock's express and jr. gemini because I am too big. I also rode Chaos (flat ride) ,Thunder Canyon (raft ride), and Cedar Downs (racing carousel). I also didn't get their on time, I was about an hour late after the park opened. You could definatly hit all the coasters in one day, but I would recommend two days for the ultimate expierience. And Force 312 was well said, don't go to Soak City after you go to CP, go before to build up your excitement. Soak City is a downer after expierincing THE POINT.

I got there at 2 p.m. one day. By the end of the night (they closed at 11) I rode all the coaster except Iron Dragon and Wildcat plus we got a ride on the power towers. We then went back the next day to hit everything we missed and what we wanted to ride again. If you have two days I would recommend it, but if you can think you can hit all the coasters in one day (and not want any more rerides) maybe you should take the 1:00 - 1:30 drive over to SFWoA. Personally this summer I will spend 2 days at Cedar Point followed by one day at Six Flags.
I suggest two days for a couple of reasons (assuming that you aren't interested in Soak City). First off, it's a big park, and running around it rushing to hit everything in a day wears you down. Being rushed isn't fun.
The other thing is that there's always the chance that you'll get bad weather. Some rides, like Wildcat, run long cycles after rain before opening back up. Overall, long closures on the major attractions are rare for reasons other than weather.

You could hit Soak City for the Day, and then get a cheaper Starlight admission for night. Then on the next day spend a whole day at CP.
From 9 to 11 at CP, I got all the coasters and Demon Drop. :( You really do need two days. It's not fun to pass up all the drops, flats, and water rides just for the coasters. They'll feel really neglected.

The First and Only Gigabuzzer bigger than Millie, rising Faster than Maggie, and pulls more BS than MS ever will!!!
One and a half days.
Visit SFWoA, get there as they open, you get on most of the rides, leave there at 2pm and drive to CP, arriving at about 4pm for the twilight rate.
They have 2 for 1 coupons in the Cedar Point book for the twilight rate, so order it online before you go. This makes your first day into the park super cheap.
Now, as you enter the park, buy your ticket for the next day so you have it.
Go on some flat rides, TP will be about a 30 minute wait, MF will be 2 hours, do this last.
The next day, be at the Marina gate early, like 08:30am, and sit there, long line forms. Gate opens, and you RUN to MF and get your 2 rides, queue will fill up, it's over, no more MF rides, then see the rest of the park. I am talking summer time, if you go in May/June, you'll get more rides. Don't go in August, park is super packed even on the weekdays.
It's weight in gold....

Good point, Jeff, about the bad weather chances. My husband and I went in June last year, had twilight and full-day tickets, and it rained a LOT during the full day. But since we've worked there, we weren't all that devastated not to be able to go on everything.
As for how long it would take to do the park, it depends on what you want to do! Everyone's had really good suggestions for getting on all the coasters, but you need to consider seeing some of the really great shows (I'd recommend the Centennial Theater on the Midway anytime), take some time to explore the Frontier Trail (Candle Shop, Petting Farm, the nice nostalgic shops), and surely you want to go on the coasters more than once! I'd really recommend 3 full days if you've never been before, which should give you plenty of time to do all the rides more than once that you're interested in as well as other attractions, and hopefully you won't have to deal with the bad weather! :)

Oh yeah... the shows! Someone mentioned that some of the musicians from the country show, including that fiddle guy (who was on tour with some show as a hired gun), will be back for this year. Not sure if it'll be at Red Garter or not. The point is, I hate country like I'd hate being spanked by a naked Lewinsky, but that show is nothing short of amazing.

This might seem stupid, but when do the schools in Cleveland/Sandusky get out for summer? I know with lake effect snow they probably get more days off during the winter than we do down in Kentucky.
Only one person mentioned three days (CrystalKat)... interesting.
I would think 3 days because when I went... I got a 2-day pass, but didn't absorb it all.
I didn't get to see any shows, like the Marina dive show, or country, or even visit the IMAX theater (is that free? I hope so!)... but I mean, I only got to hit Millennium Force twice day, and most of the other major coasters once or twice. It takes a lot out of ya!
So then Soak City isn't really worth the extra day? Why in the world do they charge so much for that waterpark? Was it ever included with the admission in years past??
Soak City has never been included with regular admission, only if you get the "Ride and Slide" tickets which offer modest savings over buying the tickets separately. I think Soak City is worth it, but if you're going to go there this is what I recommend:
The first day you go to CP, get a Twilight Ticket, but go to Soak City in the morning and afternoon. Then you have CP that evening, and then for 2-3 more days, depending on what you want to see. That's how my family did it for a couple of years, and it worked out really well because we could do so much.
Yes, the IMAX theater is a free show. :) Well worth it most times, though I think the movies have been lacking the last few years. I'm not a fan of sports, obviously, but hey, it's good for a switch.

All this information will help me too, I am going in June, so any info will help. Am going for the first time ever. Am planning 2 days at each park(CP,PKI,SFWOA)
So does everyone here think 2 Days is definatly enough at CP, I should be going on 2 weekdays which will be June 3rd and 4th I think(monday and Tuesday) Are these good days do you think????? What are crowds like Early June?????I was consdering 3 Days, but that means I will have less time in the other 2 parks as I only have 1 Week in Ohio(Wish it was longer, but thats the best I can do)
Any more Suggestions for a great day out at CP, Any Info will be most helpful.
I live in the so-called
SNOWBELT! in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland and we haven't gotten a
single snow day:(! We have had 2 electrical days after big storms, but still no snow days. So to answer PKI Weasel's Question, we haven't reached our five calamity day limit, so we will still get out of school on the scheduled last day of June 7. Can't wait. Hopefully I'll get up to the Point this year.
