If you've ever been stung by a wasp before, imagine getting stung on the ear going about 35 mph. I got nailed last summer sitting in the front seat of Double Loop at SFWoA. Talk about painful.
While I wasn't stung, I know what you're talking about loriu. Bees and wasps were found in unusually high numbers this pst summer at SFWoA. I remember a visit in August (School Daze Coaster Craze) and riding the Loop. I was the only one on board and when the train was released into the tunnel, I remember covering my face in fear as the entire tunnel was just FILLED with stinging creatures. It was the scariest ride I ever had on the Double Loop.
The only thing I was ever hit by was someone's hat on the Big Dipper. It didn't cause any damage. I also caught my own keys out of mid-air on the Magnum several years back. It would have been a long walk home without them!

I also took a pair of sunglasses to the face on the first drop of the American Eagle one time.

If I ever got hit with spit, I'd rage on someone.
That's what happened at PKI on the Swinging Ship. Some kids spit on this guys baby (supposbly) and he hit them. He was yelling at them and making a huge scene. The ride ops handled the situtation very poorly, since both the kids and family left before they called security.

Last spring I got hit by a shower of coins on SROS at SFA. Some guy put his change in his shirt pocket and when we hit the bunnies it flew up in a shower.
My friend and I were on Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags America and when we got off she said "oh my gosh, where is my pager?" Some guy 3 rows back had it in his hand!
I have also riden this ride in the rain. Actually, the rain had stopped and the ride had jsut re-opened and we had the train that was sitting in the rain. Half-way through the ride (on the third hill) a pool of water that was sitting in the bottom of the train came up and hit everybody in the face. It hurt, but it felt funny too! It also made for a quick cooling off!

I also had someone's Six Flags over Texas sport quart bottle fly back and miss my head by inches on Shock Wave. That was an experience, and the coke was very cold. The sport quart then smashed on the track and broke. That was interesting.

2- A tree branch rising into the dive loop on Kumba. Another front seat ride.
1- A HUGE gob a spit in the eye on Magnum a few years ago. I was in the back and bam- right in my eye. I wear glasses and I always use to take them off. Never again after that happened. I always wear my glasses or shades now on coasters.
