What happened to Steel Dragon?

Well, Teckno, if you're bringing back something from Japan, I would like to place my order for a Japanese Girl. Off topic, this past Halloween, at the costume shop where I am employed, I wore a sign on my shirt that basically said, Wanted: Japanese Girlfriend. I had several Asian girls checking out my shirt and one whom apparently reads Japanese approach me. Funny stuff!
actually i was looking around and it said that sd2k cost 5.5 billion yen, which would equal close to 48 million dollars or so.

Having a Japanese girlfriend is VERY nice :)

Has there been any litigation instigated? The fact that the manufacturer sold out after completion may have something to do with it.I have heard rumblings that the accident was the result of "over maintenance" i.e. they tore down and reassembled the trains way too often. Not a fact, just what I heard.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Morgan and Chance formed a merger, hence Chance-Morgan Rides. All there rides/services are still covered by the new company. Therefore, they did not "sell out" by any means. Just take a look at the new ride at SFM.

I also have a thought of the status of the ride. A few CB members have thought that a re-design of the trains may be in the works. Although possible, I don't see it happening. A redesign would have to be very similar to those already on-track in order to work. The shape of the trains has alot to do with speed/wind factor, alot! Also, what could the park/Chance-Morgan differentlt, from my understanding of the maintance of the ride, it was over-inspecting(if that's even possible) I can see this coaster sitting where it is for at least another 5-10 years.

POssibly, but I don't think it will take that long. (What do I know though :) )After Space Mt. derailed there it didn't take long, but that was found to be a maintenence problem, if I remember right. Another year wouldn't surprise me, though, considering how long it took to get Birdmen open (though that one had a death!)

Micheal Chance bought out Morgan Manufacturing, there was no merger. Dana Morgan has retired and is no longer involved with the business. I do not know how much of the previous product liability (if any) Chance-Morgan has assumed. I remember when after Chance bought Allan Herschel they assumed the liability for while, then went to court to absolve themselves of all responsiblilties of Herschel built rides.
Nasai, I did get that shirt from J-list.

I hope that they get SD2000 up and running. Although I've never been on it, it looks like a really fun coaster. It's really sad that it has been down for so long.

Hmmmm...Nicolette Sheridan? Now that sounds better (esp. since I never thought Paris was at all pretty).

Back OT, even if the park did decide to sell SD2K, what parks (that could afford it) have the room, and could fit this into their ride lineups without it being something too off the wall for the park? (I.E. no Disney)

I really hope they keep it, make the needed adjustments, and have it opened by the time I get over there.

na, i gotta go with tekno on this one and side with Paris Hilton. That girl looks hella hott dude. And she got the legs.

And she also got the...nah, in the interest of keeping this a family site, I won't go there. I will say, though, that once it gets you, it really stays with you... ;)

So no one else has the unhealthy obsession with the movie that I do? It's worth it just the 80's rocker chick version of Jennifer Aniston.
Indeed. I about fell off my chair when I read your first post. But of course it shouldn't surprise you that I love that movie as well. :)

Sheesh. I'm off to smoke. Marlboro, of course.
Uh oh...I'm a Winston guy, myself. Although I actually quit (again) just over a week ago.
