What "first of its kind" coaster went to levels un

When a new design comes out for a rollercoaster, the desinger usually makes it more tame than extreme. What "First of its kind" rollercoaster, went further than you would have expected for a new coaster type?

I think Batman: The Ride was one type. The first of its kind had 2 loops, one inline twist, and 2 corkscrews.

Umm...X. Arrow didn't even want to build that big, but SFMM insisted. Not to say Arrow should have taken the project if they couldn't finish it, but....

Apollo wasn't really that big considering all that B&M really did was build new trains. It's only 170' (with a 210' drop) which is shorter than neighboring Alpie.
