What ever happened to those twister coasters?

I wonder why there aren't any more of those twister coasters. I know that Six Flags Astroworld has one. Why doesn't any other parks have these? I though that these coasters were cool? What's the deal?
What exactly is a 'twister' coaster? I know that it's a type of wooden coaster but other than that i've never heard the term before.

NONONO!! It is those steel coaster in a steel tube that do two in-line twists forward and then backwards.

Those are pipeline or heartline coasters, depending on who makes it and who you ask.

I think Ultra Twister is the only one and it is made by TOGO of japan.
There are two or three in Japan also.
They are really great coasters. I really don't know why they don't have more. Maybe they're just really expensive and not really thrilling?
Ultra Twister at Astroworld is a great ride, it's just rough.

My question is, why there aren't more? Why does everybody have things against rough rides?
SF Great Adventure had one. It didn't last very long though - I think just one season. I heard several rumors about somebody who died on it but I never confirmed it.
Isn't Raging Bull at SFGA a "hyper twister" ?
scooter yes it is BUT this topic is about twister coasters. Two way different kinds of coasters.
I think the real reason is that no park in it's right mind would buy a TOGO ride.
But does anyone know what happened to Arrows "pipeline"? That's another type of twister.

According to Ron Toomer at Coastermania99 last year, the project was killed off because they couldn't develop the kind of capacity they wanted. Since all parks want to move butts through the queue as fast as possible, this wasn't acceptable. They pitched it to a park who asked them to bring it back with higher capacity. By that time their R&D budget was shot, and the project died.

Raging Bull is a stand-up hypercoaster.

Raging Bull is NOT a stand-up coaster.

Jeff is right, I remember my butt being in a seat on Raging Bull when I rode it. Its classified as a Hyper-twister.
More than likely...It is probably a capacity issue. I rode the one at Astroworld a few years ago. And boy...is it ever a long wait in line... especially for such a short ride too. Each train only holds a few people. Although it was fun...I did not feel compelled to wait in line for it again on my next trip the following year.
