What else is there to do in Sandusky?

What else is there to do in Sandusky after spending 3 days at the Point? We're just looking for something to do on an afternoon with the kids. How far is Cleveland from Cedar Point?

Miss coastergames.net? Here is a good site.

For kiddie (and grown-up) fun, there's Goofy Golf and Sports City (both on US-250). Each has mini-golf, go-karts, and an arcade (Sports City is bigger in that department). Also, African Safari Wildlife Park over in Port Clinton is an interesting trip for the kids - it has a drive-through safari where you can feed the animals from your car (or in your car if the animal is hungry enough! :) )

To answer your second question, Cleveland is about an hour drive from Sandusky.

Stooge.

If you plan on heading toward Cleveland after CP, why not hit SFWoA? Well worth a visit (IMO).

We were thinking about hitting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Scott. I had forgot about SFWoA. I'm going to have to purchase addtional miles for my rental van ;)

Nowhere near in the vicinity of CP or Cleveland.

Cincinnati is on the southern tip of Ohio. If you plan on hitting HW, or SFKK, then PKI is within striking distance.

Kings Island is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours away from Cedar Point I know I have made the trek several times while I was an employee. Cleveland is a great city the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is cool except a little overrated and the Science Center next door is AWESOME......there is also SFWoA to do and that is fun. In Sandusky there is really not much to do the Sports City place is fun (don't miss the Bullet Cars) and the water park in great bear lodge is a great place too....have fun and make your trip worth it if you do travel to PKI make the trip to Holiday World it's worth the two hour or so drive.

2.5-3? I would say more like 4, but you could have driven a lot faster than I did. It took us 6 with stops.

The Merry-Go-Round museum in Sandusky is interesting. It's a lot of history but some kids are into that (I was).
Goofy Golf (not the original one, the one closer to CP) Twice I have taken a group of roughly 30 7th-12th graders to the Point and it was a great way to spend an evening. We all had a ball.

I also really enjoy the carosel museum. I haven't been there for 3 or 4 years, but it is always great.

I would recommend catching a ferry over to the Lake Erie Islands for a day. Put-n-bay's "wineries," restaraunts and shops are a great way to spend a day.
Plus where else can you rent a golf cart that has a license plate?
Cedar Point is 2.25 hours from Columbus. PKI is 1.5 hours from Columbus. That'd make PKI almost four hours from CP. But SFWoA is definitely doable.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

If you were a college kid, I'd suggest spending a night at Put-in-Bay. If you go home alone on that island, you really need help.

SFWoA isn't a bad drive from Sandusky, but just keep in mind that you're not going to another CP...as Jon Lovitz might say, "Lower your standards!"

The Merry Go Round museum is very nice! I lot of those things I have never checked out but would like to, especially the Caverns.

Yeah, you should do the R&R Hall of Fame if you are going to be in Cleveland anyway (and of course SFWOA)

I loved the Hall of Fame. Pretty overwhelming at first.

Put-In-Bay's famous Dock Trash, that's the "fishing" up at the islands. From a Lake Erie island song:

WELL
SHE CAME UP TO THE ISLANDS
JUST TO HAVE HERSELF A BALL
SHE TOLD HER OLD MAN
SHE WAS GOING SHOPPING AT THE MALL
SHE'S BEEN HERE NOW FOR THREE DAYS
I DON'T THINK THAT'S ODD
SHE'S GOT A FISHING BUDDY
HIS NAME IS FISHING ROD

Whatever else you do, if you want good pizza go to Chet & Matt's on Strubb road east of 250!
