What does Six Flags have to do with RCT2?

I'm very baffled on this one. First of all, everyone has known before several of the expansion packs that there was going to be an RCT2. Chris Sawyer even mentioned it in an interview that he was thinking about it after the first RCT. But where did SF come into it all? Was it a publicity stunt to attract some of the GP's attention? I just don't see why ANY park corporation would want to get involved with a game. It's like Amtrak trying to sponser a Train Simulator sequel. Anybody have a guess at this?
If you have ever been to a Six Flags Park, you will notice signs advertising RCT. Like on Viper @ Six Flags Great America there is a RCT Sign. And the Tv's in american Eagles Queue show RCT Commercials.
That sign on Viper isn't there anymore, Im wondering why they took it down. Maybe they are getting a new Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 sign.

What does Pringles have to do with Six Flags? It's called advertising...It's the same thing for Six Flags and RCT2.

It's all based on a simple (somewhat) thing called demographics. SF knows that the demographics for RCT2 is --GASP-- roller coaster enthusiasts, and go figure, they would like to highlight themselves on/in that game.

That is why you see Budweiser, Mountain Dew, Doritos, (and many many more) ads during the NFL games. They know that people who watch football have a higher incidence of consuming those products.

Believe me, SF is not getting their 5 parks and fron cover mentions for free. They are undoubtably paying some serious cash to get that. But in exchange, they are getting to showcase five of their parks across millions of PC screens. Will it bring people into those parks, I think it's a safe bet. And I betcha SF thinks so too or else they wouldn't have spent the cash to do it.

Posting, "Me too" like some brain dead AOLer. I ought to to the world a favor, and cap you like old yeller...

It would be really cool if the TV's in the lines showed previews of RCT2... Wow, wouldn't that make the line soo much more interesting...

What does Six Flags have to do with RCT2?

MONEY, plain and simple. They saw that Blackpool, Alton, etc. were "real park" scenarios in the last expansion, and thought that it'd be a great way to advertise. Trust me, it'd just as soon been a Knott's Berry expansion pack if Cedar Fair would've antied up more dough sooner.
