What did the GP say about Xcelerator....

What did the GP say about Xcelerator before the park put on the support braces. They must have said something about seeing a hill up there supported by nothing....

This is just one of my random questions that I was thinking of the other day....

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

HA thats classic, good timing on getting the first reply :-)

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

I overheard some people pointing out the signaute Intamin wobble and not really thinking much about it, other than thinking it looked neat.

I'm just glad wait times haven't gone up since the rehab. Ghostrider is still much more crowded. Some days Ghostrider is 1 hour and xcelerator is 25 minutes. Wait, thats everyday.
good job on that post GP. also, what exactly did they do? just ad an X wire across the top, are new pics posted on RCDB?

I am one.
I am Turbo.

Thoses new wires as well as one large support between "The Two Towers". You still have the big coral colored arch since the support runs only about 100 feet above the ground.
GP, that has to be a record for fastest response to a post.
I'm just that good.

I've heard various comments. A lot of the GP crowd shy away from Xcelerator thinking the ride is too intense for them. Partly due to the unsupported look to it. (Which hasn't changed really...the new cross beam support is well below the arch). But most of the comments seem to relate to the height, or even more importantly, the speed of the launch which seems to scare a lot of them away..and for some the straight up and down aspect factor in to it also.

Fine with me...less people in line. :)

But it DOES make me wonder what the GP will think of TTD. MF does just fine, so I don't think the locals there will have a problem with the height, but perhaps the launch will scare them a bit.

It would appear that many people shy away from the ride because the 2 times I rode it I never waited more than 15 min. I did, however, wait more than an hour for Ghostrider on those same days. FYI: I was there the week before Easter.

Millennium Force - Any other questions?

Very Impressive General Public... you didn't plan that did you?
Actually, no. But I couldn't pass the opportunity up.

Ummmmmmmmm, I don't think the GP knows what company made Xcelerator, as well as know that Xcel has the "signatue" (spell right... <_< ) Intamin wobble... especially on a coaster like Xcelerator, since it was a FIRST and all.

A few points, Beta Factor. One, I doubt he was refering to the GP actually mentionining Intamin's name: They were probably jut pointing at the wobble. We just happen to have a name for it. Also, Xcelerator is hardly the first Intamin ride with the wobble: All three of the Inpulses that went before it sway a bit when the train goes back down the spikes.

The GP knows nothing about OTHER Intamins and what they do...

....and finally, with the monstrosity RIGHT there in town, ALL the ads they ran, and the uniqueness of the ride in SoCal (full circuit launch)....I'd say that KBF's reported 1% increase in attendance speaks VOLUMES about how people felt....not necessarily about the ride...;) The GP in SoCal apparently said little about Xcel, and went to SFMM instead.....but reports indicate that KBF is back on the right track, and that is good news....
