What coaster is in this video?

A friend sent me this one, It's kinda gross content and somewhat explicit. I am usually very good at identifying coasters, but not sure about this one

It kinda looks like a model by Soquet? Anyone, anyone?

LORDS OF ACID!

I really like the sound of the Farstucker album a lot! That band was a big part of my life when I was younger.

Although the coaster looks somewhat off the shelf, it must be somewhat popular, because it takes riders' photos.

I agree with you LK, to me it looks like a portable, one of the German touring rides.

That video was released around 1994 - so it has to be something pre then... The track is Souquet.

Music NSFW, btw (though I have played it on broadcast radio). Never knew there was a video for that.

Lords of Acid is just a little bit under GWAR as far as NSFW goes. lol

I'm a bit partial to Army of Lovers.... but Beavis and Butt head always liked GWAR....

We used to dance to this back in the early 90's...

I've seen LoA at least five times. People wear some really fantastic clothes to those shows. Or at least, did. Either they stopped making music or I got bored with them years ago.

Just pulling your chain Mr. Demon! ;-)

As a side note - Lords Of Acid will be doing a US tour Spring/Summer 2011. But yes they have been out of the scene for many years.

I'd put a (very) small wager on the coaster being Soquet's 'King.'

I saw LOA with Thrill Kill Kult this summer. They still gots it.

Hi

Didn't I hear that one of the crazies from Rock of Love (Best Michaels' dating show on VH1) was singing for Lords of Acid?

But then again, what do I know?

I think some people mentioned that at the show, but since I've never seen the VH1 show I didn't really pay attention to the conversation. No one beats Jade4U.

Hi

It does look like King to me, but that ride was built in 1995 so it's too new for the video.

I'm guessing that it was Vancraeyenest's previous travelling coaster, which was Quantum Loop at Seabreeze and is now Bambo Coaster at Saltire Magico.

^I would say it´s "Le King" too. The ride was patterned after Schwarzkopf´s "Alpina Bahn" and you can see that the first drop doesn´t lead into the loops, instead it pulls out and up diagonal to the lift. You can also see the container-tunnel at the end of the ride. It is also much taller and has more swooping drops than Quantum Loop
King is a pretty amazing ride and easily the best thing Soquet (suck it) ever did. Sadly they felt the need to put on new trains with OTSR a few years ago.

What park would 'Le King' or "king" be at?

It does/did the French Fairs.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

^Wow, thanks! It's too bad about those OTSRs... it started out with lap bars only? Looks like a great Anton - inspired ride!

Wow, that looks like it would have been amazing. The Alpina Bahn inspiration is pretty clear. This is one of those rides where I feel the OTSRs are a real hindrance. Knightmare at Camelot...was unfortunately appropriately-named due to modifications to the trains. It pains me to say it, but that was an Anton I wasn't too fond of.

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
